The cult of W: Now, giant W's on the wall behind him while he speaks
Edited on Wed Dec-14-05 11:35 AM by Newsjock

Sure, it's from the hosting site, the Woodrow Wilson Center, but whose bright idea was it to put the giant W over and over again on the "propaganda wall" behind Chimpy while he speaks?

Things like this don't happen by accident.

The W worshippers are probably getting moist.

10. Woodrow Wilson had more smarts and humility
In his pinky finger than idiot Bush in his whole body. Rejection of Wilson's 'League of Nations' was one of the factors that made WWII inevitable.

16. Woodrow Wilson was a racist bastard...
set back civil rights for years!

Wilson Center Mission Statement
snip>
it is a living memorial whose work and scholarship commemorates "the ideals and concerns of Woodrow Wilson."

http://wilsoncenter.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=about.miss...

Virginia Democrat, Woodrow Wilson, won both the 1912 and 1916 presidential elections. He encouraged the introduction and passage of discriminatory legislation, such as a bill passed by the House that made interracial marriage in the District of Columbia a felony. President Wilson made it a requirement to include a photograph with any application for a federal position, to facilitate the exclusion of blacks from government jobs. Wilson pushed for segregation of federal workers, systematically demoted black civil servants, and claimed nothing could be done to improve the situation of blacks in the country. He refused to meet with black leaders, to appear at black conferences on race issues, or to publicly denounce lynching. President Wilson's wartime administration relegated black Army soldiers to non-combat labor billets, claiming that blacks were unable to fight courageously. Under Wilson, the Navy only allowed blacks to serve as messboys, and the Marines did not accept blacks at all.

1913
President Woodrow Wilson officially introduces segregation into the Federal Government. Horrified that President would sanction such a policy, the NAACP launched a public protest.

17. Ya gotta understand
Edited on Wed Dec-14-05 01:21 PM by Loonman
That was an accepted view back then. Remember Sen. Bobby Byrd was in the KKK, a long time ago.

To go back even further, Lincoln found black people personally distasteful, to put it mildly, yet he freed them nonetheless.

14. Someday there will be a movie named "W" and
it will accurately portray this mal-administration, and will portray the America of this era. (No word yet on whether the U.S. will still be in existence so the movie can be made within it.)

Like "Good Night and Good Luck", the movie will use real footage of "Dubya" to portray "Dubya", just as they use real footage of the real Joe McCarthy in the current film.

And some of the young folks coming out of the theater will be asked their opinions, and they will say, "It was great... but I did think the guy who played Dubya kind of over-acted his part."

Because currently some of the moviegoers at "Good Night and Good Luck", who see the ACTUAL FOOTAGE of the REAL Sen. McCarthy are saying, "I think the actor who played McCarthy overplayed his role."

In the future, they won't believe THIS SHIT. We all need to try to live as long as we can so we can TELL them that it's all TRUE.
