Bush defends Iraq war, says he will attack another nation if necessary

WASHINGTON (AFP) - One day before Iraq's historic parliamentary elections, US President George W. Bush defiantly defended his case for war and said he would preemptively attack another country if he deemed it necessary.

In remarks aimed at shoring up faltering US support for the conflict, Bush also accepted responsibility for relying on "wrong" intelligence about
Saddam Hussein's alleged weapons programs to order the March 2003 invasion.

Still, "in an age of terrorism and weapons of mass destruction, if we wait for threats to fully materialize, we will have waited too long," Bush said in the fourth and final speech in a series ahead of Thursday's elections

Bush acknowledged that the war had sharply divided the United States and that intelligence about Saddam Hussein's alleged weapons programs had turned out to be false, but he sharply rebuked "irresponsible" charges that he had deliberately misled the country.

"These charges are pure politics. They hurt the morale of our troops," he declared, saying that even countries which opposed the war agreed that Saddam possessed weapons of mass destruction.

"As president, I'm responsible for the decision to go into Iraq -- and I'm also responsible for fixing what went wrong by reforming our intelligence capabilities," he said.

That bastard needs to go before we all get killed!!!
Frankly, I’m surprised some other nation hasn’t launched a pre-emptive attack on us because of this buffoon and his constant saber rattling! I think he has finally succeeded in irreparably destroying America and her standing among the nations of the world.

nearly every nation on the planet has been bullied by us. they didn't think much of us before, they think less now.

13. I disagree
I know people all over Europe who thought the US was the bee's knees... and they were so supportive of us after 9/11... I remember Norway calling themselves "the 51st state".

There was admiration. Not a shred now.

3. China is quietly and patiently waiting in the wings
They'd love for bush to attack another country and further destroy our military. It really doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out you can stress your resources only so far. He is weakening our nation because he and his kind do not have the wherewithall to make it stronger.

1. You're responsible for fixing what went wrong, George?
That's rich, because up until now, you and your corrupt cohort have steadfastly maintained that nothing has gone wrong, everything's going precisely according to the intricate plan you laid out more than three years ago. What has gone wrong, George? And what will you do to fix what has gone wrong? How will you atone for your errors?

And I am sick and tired of hearing about "this hurst the morale of our troops" line. You know what hurts the morale our troops? Lies that take them to war.

he's running around telling everybody his job description like he's the first person to ever hold the office of president (non-president).

He's listening to Condelezza's bull that she's read in the history books believeing that because someone did something in the past they will do it the same way they did it then. Things are different and technology changes everything Cheney,Wolfewitz,Rumsfeld and the rest of the crew are playing by ear, THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THE HELL THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT!

21. Not according to the Constitution George
According to the Constitution, Article 1, Section 8, Clause 11 and I quote,

Article 1

Section 1.

All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives.

Section 8

Clause 11

To declare War, grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water;

The way I read it George, you don't have power to declare jack shit. You are the executive, remember? You take your marching orders as Commander in Chief AFTER congress declares war. You implement what "We the People" tell you to do.

Thats your problem George, you swore to uphold the Constitution and you don't know diddly squat whats in it. I'd expect no less from some dipstick Daddy's boy from Connecticut acting like some bigshot loudmouth Texan politician.

It's Congress that has the responsibility to take America to war, as specified in Article 1, not some King. Parliment, George, think Parliment. Maybe you can then figure out what your job is. Your job responsibility is spelled out in Article 2, you fucking moron.

You would screw-up a wet-dream George.

"he would preemptively attack another country if he deemed it necessary."

That fuck is certifiably insane. Dilusional. A megalomaniacal criminal murderous sociopath with dilusions of grandeur.

Why doesn't the Secret Service call the white coats to bring a straight jacket? He is INSANE.
