One nagging question about the Iraqi constitution...
Does it still strip some civil rights away from Iraqi women and turn them over to sharia courts? If so, does anyone know where we can peruse the text of the constitution in English?

1. The only part of that constitution I am aware of is
that nothing in it can countermand the Koran. Its a model for the type of "constitution" the radical christian clerics want for our country - nothing can countermand the bible.

2. Thats my understanding also
it says the Koran is the source of all law.

3. That helps a little...
Still, I can't help but chuckle at the old Ottoman Empire law that granted a woman the right to divorce her husband if he did not supply her with a sufficient daily ration of coffee.
