I wonder...
If Bush were to execute American citizens without trial because "national security" was at stake, would the media and Republicans happily rationalize it away? I'm just asking because of the lack of outrage on RW blogs and media outlets regarding the whole wiretapping issue. I have a sneakingly bad feeling about all of this. It's the type of feeling that tells me if this one doesn't take the shrub down then it will prove that he really can get away with anything, and he will start to act accordingly.

1. the reason why the RWers are not outraged is because........
....like Bush, they believe it applies to everyone else, certainly not them!! And they won't be outraged about it until someone they know is affected by it.

2. Who's to say it hasn't happened?
I wonder how many dual citizens or Americans of Muslim descent are not really eating bagels at Gitmo?

3. They aren't even talking about it!
Maybe they are out Xmas shopping? I spent some time this afternoon checking all the usual sites and nada - no conversation about their pretzeldente admitting he violated the constitution he swore to uphold.

Unfrickingbelievable. WAKE UP KOOLAID DRINKERS!!

7. what have they NOT gotten away with, aside from the temporarily
delayed Patriot Act Extension

you know the kind of pressure that's going to be applied in the next three weeks

I think we're so much closer to a police state than even most people here imagine

the fricking NYT waited a YEAR to run that story, and you know what sorta stuff they're holding back on Plame/Edmonds, etal

glad I got my passport renewed this year.....

8. The fact that some 30% (at least the last time I checked)...
of respondants to CNN's poll consider spying on US citizens without a warrent was acceptable, yeah, I'm scared. They've got nothing to hide, so they see no problem with big brother and big government snooping in and watching our every move. Until brother and government catch a glimpse of something that embarrasses them and makes them uncomfortable, they will see nothing wrong with it whatsoever. I would ask, "where's the outrage?" but then I remember that a third of the country are only outraged by blowjobs.

It's like Jefferson said in my sig line...
