i wonder if it bothers freeper types
that the "founding fathers" swiped most of their ideas from FRENCH enlightenment thinkers?

4. Why should it bother them?
According to their revised history of EVERYTHING, we borrowed nothing from the French, we are a Christian nation, the founding fathers believed and thought EXACTLY as they do today, and all our problems would be solved if we'd just turn back the clock to 1799. Well, their version of 1799 anyway.

Bush is their king to which they've sworn fealty. That is more important than the Constitution to them.

The Constitution is only there for when people they don't agree with are in power. Now that they haven't their king it's just an annoying bit of historical paperwork.

To them a nation is an ethic grouping or at least a group of like-minded people with all the same values and ideas (read: boring dead end society).

The Constitution is an expression of a diverse sovereign people's will. Yes it's imperfect, still a work in progress but it's foundation is the idea that the people - whoever they may be - rich poor, religious of various stripes or non-religious, hippy, businessman - rule and not some ruling class or king.

That very idea is anathema to them.
