Orange hats, gloves, scarfs, sweaters for winter. Wear everyday.
Some enterprising person can buy wholesale and resell these at cost plus postage to participants in the ORANGE MOVEMENT. "ray of light" has posted a suggestion to start a orange protest movement against Bush administration for their rank rascism, treason, lying, and spinning. We can have a sea of orange overtake this nation by the end of January 06 and through elections. All of us have been feeling so helpless against the tyranny of this administration this is something we can do that is not too painful or stressful. For folks who are afraid of going to the workplace wearing protest garment against Bush just make an orange ribbon and tack it to your auto after you leave work premises or buy your retired dad, mom, uncle an orange cap and let them wear them to all senior events.

Come on folks, give it a try! (Of course your phones will be tapped but so what!)

23. Actually, when I read the thread title I thought there had been a rash
of hunting accidents somewhere....

As for pissing off the hunters....Ever seen a January game at Lambeau Field.

Being from WI, I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't get a few Good Ole Boys showing up at your protest from attrition. Cause around here, that much orange in one spot means one of two things: hunting or football- and the impromptu kind are just as welcome as the scheduled events.

Edited on Sat Dec-17-05 11:09 PM by fed-up
as part of his mini protest of the all black clothes the "goth" kids wear.

That means orange hi-tops, an orange Giant's cap, orange shorts, lots of orange shirts, and an orange rain jacket (just got that a few days ago at a thrift store).

I'm sure he has something I can borrow. :)

6. You're only going to look like a bunch of hunters!
They all either wear orange or camoflage. Wearing orange may make a statement in July. But in December? It only looks like you're heading up to the local gas station for kerosene for the heater, or you're headed for your handmade deer blind.

We live in a delusional world where someday the Lions *might* have a winning season.

He'll pay for doing that to Cleveland. Karma's nasty when it comes back around.

28. He's had a pretty good life so far...
and I hardly see any bad luck coming his way. Unless you happen to believe in an afterlife...a Budhist reincarnation as a dung beetle would be too good for him.

25. :D
I'm making three Browns hats for Christmas this year. It's hard to find good Browns orange, but I scored some at a good yarn shop.

My FIL's hat says, "There's always next year, Cleveland!" It's from an old pattern I made for my hubby's hat that my FIL has been wanting for a few years now.

I'm the lone Lions fan in the family (my stepmom's dad played for them back in the 40's), so I just quietly work on the Browns stuff for them. It must be love. ;)

21. Quite
Good idea but unfortunate choice of colour given the recent events in Ukraine.

What's wrong with green? Or better still take back the real people's colour - red.

24. Already on it!
I have a lot of hunter's orange wool yarn in my stash (long story how it got there), and I'm working on a Browns hat for my FIL. I have more orange for two more Browns hats, and so I'll be able to make one from the stash yarn or the leftovers for myself.

The orange movement isn't a bad idea. I like the symbolism--make ourselves stand out so we can't get shot and make sure to bring notice to what we're saying. Of course, here in Michigan, everyone will just think I'm a hunter . . .
