other of her thoughts. While she would be a lot better than any Republican, we can do better than that.

I've been for Feingold for President for several years. Any Senator who has the courage to stand alone in voting against the Patriot Act is truly a champion of the people.

11. I agree
I just read his whole profile on Wikipedia and like what I learned:

"Americans For Democratic Action, a liberal advocacy group which rates members of Congress on a scale of 0 to 100, with zero being totally conservative and 100 being completely progressive, gave Senator Feingold a lifetime average rating of 96."

Are there any high ranking Republicans that are Jewish?
In this current culture of Christianity gone a-muck, can we successfully run a Jewish candidate?

18. video of Feingold on CNN
he is showing his best quality in his response yesterday to Bush's admission. Feingold has a straightforwardness that very few other politicians have. Wes Clark is the only other one that comes to mind. Both very intelligent, utterly confident in what they are saying, but without a shred of bravado. Totally credible.

37. Yep. I'm for that. People are just going to have to get over his "flaws,"
when it comes to whether or not he's "electable." Half the country's been divorced, and the wing-nut religious fundies are going to have to grow up and learn some tolerance or stay home. (or vote for whatever nutjob the republicans put up, I guess, but it's their loss.)

Russ is a good man who really does listen to people. He gets things done, and he tries to do what's right.

If he runs we're going to have to work our asses off for him, though. He always takes the "clean campaign" pledge when he runs here in Wisconsin and since he's part of McCain-Feingold the money involved could get interesting in that he probably won't have as much as everyone else who runs. And, just because Russ took the clean campaign pledge doesn't mean his opponents will. So we'll have to work like mad against attacks on him. That joke of a candidate they ran against him last time didn't do it--and as an aside, the debates the two of them had were hilarious. The opponent just kept bringing up talking points that had nothing to do with what Russ was saying or what the question was, and in rebuttal Russ kept saying "I can't believe my ears--are you even listening to what we're saying?" It was great.

He's a smart, plain-spoken guy and I think if the country had the chance to get to know him he just might make it. He might be just what we need to finally get this country united--if he can pull it off. I'm willing to work like crazy to see that he does.

I just woke up and I'm really just thinking out loud here, but I'm happy to see Russ get enthusiastic support from people here and elsewhere. I'm glad people outside of Wisconsin are figuring out why we like having him as our Senator.

If you have a minute, take a look at his organization: http://www.progressivepatriotsfund.com

40. My vote is for
Patrick Fitzgerald. Now if there is only a way we can bring him to the party that stands for the principals for which he fights and draft him.

There is no republican that would stand a chance. He knows the inner workings of Bin Laden, took down the mafia, a lawyer of almost unequalled esteem, and I'm just getting started with his qualifications.

50. Feingold is by far the most impressive potential candidate
What guts it took for him to be the ONLY Senator to vote against the patriot act. He doesn't do things because they are popular, he does things because he follows his conscience & logic. Feingold speaks clearly without fence-sitting, voters are impressed when they don't feel as though they are electing a used car salesperson.

I agree with a poster up-thread, I am willing to work my back-side off for Feingold. It really is time to restore honor & dignity to the Oval Office.

FEINGOLD FOR PRESIDENT 2008!!!

There are some impressive possibilities in the House, as well. I don't know about governors.
