OK, Condi, if that's true let's just SEARCH THE WHOLE CONTRY!
Rice said,in essence, that the Bush administration felt it was permissible to surveil and wiretap because the laws were writtne years ago before these terrorists of today appeared on the scene.
Apparently, the administration can just overloook or ignore any law or legal standard it feels interferes with the pursuit of terrorits.
Take it to a logical conclusion: Let's tap every phone and ultimately just search every home, office, condo, hotel room, boat, doghouse
or Boy Scout tent in the country! Hell with it! Search EVERYTHING:
Better yet, install the monitoring screens like Edmond O'Brien faced in "1984." You arrive home and you have to explain everything you did that day.
Orwell was incorrect only in his timing....

10. Really. They'll not tell us what they are doing until years later
I have no doubt the surveillance is much more extensive and much much less valuable than they claim.

9. Its a fine line
between terrorist and revolutionary. The line is usually drawn by the one who wins.

These people need to wake up and realize that they are saying all of the things that we have been warned throughout history by our NOBLE leaders to listen for. "This is for your own good." "The world is different now." "How can we keep you safe if we let you go outside."

Ok, so the last one was paraphrasing sci-fi, but the point still stands. All of their arguments are EXACTLY what Franklin, Jefferson, Adams, and the like warned us to listen for when they revolted against England for EXACTLY THESE REASONS! THe red-coats were looking for terrorists too, terrorists who were tired of being oppressed and treated unfairly in private, work, and public life and every time the Brits cracked down the line was the same "We are just trying to keep you safe."

Well, its 2k5 and the only thing that makes me feel safe is the 2nd Amendment and the knowledge that it was put into our BASIC UNDENIABLE RIGHTS to stop our government when they start sounding like the despots that they were predicted to become over 200 years ago. This needs to end soon, the easy way, before we ALL get fed up with it and start doing it the hard way.

8. Bullshit...there have been terrorists for centuries!
I also heard her say that he "took an oath" to protect and defend the Constitution. You should have heard me scream at the TV...

I guess she meant that trivial document that Shrub refers to as "nothing but a Goddamn piece of paper"!!! Grrrrrrrrr...

Peace
