"cute" little freeper email I just rec'd..how stupid are these ppl anyway?
This is one of the better e-mails I have received in a long time! I hope this makes its way around the USA several times over!!!!!
So Be It!

THE LAW IS THE LAW

So if the US government determines that it is against the law for the words "under God" to be on our money, then, so be it.

And if that same government decides that the "Ten Commandments" are not to be used in or on a government installation, then, so be it.

I say, "so be it," because I would like to be a law abiding US citizen.

I say, "so be it," because I would like to think that smarter people than I are in positions to make good decisions.

I would like to think that those people have the American public's best interests at heart.

BUT, YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE I'D LIKE?

Since we can't pray to God, can't Trust in God and cannot post His Commandments in Government buildings, I don't believe the Government and its employees should participate in the Easter and Christmas celebrations which honor the God that our government is eliminating from many facets of American life.

I'd like my mail delivered on Christmas, Good Friday, Thanksgiving & Easter. After all, it's just another day.

I'd like the US Supreme Court to be in session on Christmas, Good Friday, Thanksgiving & Easter as well as Sundays. After all, it's just another day.

I'd like the Senate and the House of Representatives to not have to worry about getting home for the "Christmas Break." After all it's just another day.

I'm thinking that a lot of my taxpayer dollars could be saved, if all government offices & services would work on Christmas, Good Friday & Easter. It shouldn't cost any overtime! since those would be just like any other day of the week to a government that is trying to be "politically correct."

In fact....

I think that our government should work on Sundays (initially set aside for worshipping God...) because, after all, our government says that it should be just another day....

What do you all think????

If this idea gets to enough people, maybe our elected officials will stop giving in to the minority opinions and begin, once again, to represent the 'majority' of ALL of the American people.

SO BE IT........

Please Dear Lord,
Give us the help needed to keep you in our country!

'Amen' and 'Amen'

Touche!

These are definitely things I never thought about but from now on, I will be sure to questions those in government who support these changes.

At the top, it says "I hope this makes its way around the USA several times over!!!!!"

Let's see that it does. Keep it in your mailbox and resend it whenever someone new comes along.

P.S. In God We Trust...& God bless you & yours.

Me: sigh

1. This person is braindead
I'd like to see examples from them to back up this statement:

"Since we can't pray to God, can't Trust in God " Since when??

These people are only persecuted in their own tiny brains!

or something? I feel like we're living in bizarro world...or that they are from Mars, and we're from Venus.....make it stop, someone!

2. I wouldn't mind it if the Congress met more often
if it meant that they actually READ the bills they vote into law.

I don't think that this person knows when "In God We Trust" got put on money, who put it on, and why. Ask her about Salmon B. Chase and his political ambitions in 1864 and see if you get an answer. She might be surprised that the whole thing was a political ploy by Mr. Chase, who was hoping to oust the "Godless" Lincoln (who wasn't a member of any church, and didn't wear his religion on his sleeve like old Salmon did) and take over the Presidencey.

he was anti-organized religion but he later believed in God but he wasn't a fan of the Bible.

15. I know, I know!
"What part of Christianity do these people not get?" (Christ who?)

The part of Christianity contained in the first four books of the New Testament. It would seem that from all the Hullabaloo going on right now from the so called Christians, that they have never heard of the kind of guy Christ was.

The older I get the more the religionists and rightwingers have in common with mental illness.

foundation of Christianity is from Christ which is in the first four books also known as the gospel books. To ignore it is to ignore Christ and thus your Christianity.

Edited on Sun Dec-18-05 08:45 PM by FreedomAngel82
I as a Christian don't get it either. My place for worship is my church, someone's home, or the privacy of my room. I guess they've never read Matthew chapter six?? When I spend time with God I like it to be personal unless I'm at worship or just spending some Bible study time or another activity with my church.

Day in the Life of Joe Republican.

And the various quotes from the 'Founding Fathers' about their thoughts on religion.

Of course you'll be flamed, but hey, it's the Solstice!

Added on edit:

I must say that I actually think that most businesses should be closed at least ONE day a week. That was something those 'Blue Laws' were good for. Kept the parking lots empty at malls so kids could learn to drive, families actually had to talk to one another (or fight), and kept the roads clear for one day a week.

7. Tell the guy to work on Sundays too while he's at it.
After all, he's perfectly willing to throw away his right to worship on Sundays just so that he can save some of his taxpayer dollars. In fact, let him set the example. He can start doing so now and violate the sacred commandment of keeping the Sabbath Day holy because after all, he sure wouldn't want to be a hyppocrite or nothing like that. Nosiree.

8. Uh... Does this Freeper realize that Easter isn't a federal holiday?
Or that it always falls on a Sunday, so that there's associated no day off with pay for the hated federal bureaucracy?

Or that Good Friday is also NOT a designated holiday and that the mail is delivered anyway?

Didn't think so.

14. Okay, I'm going to be the fly in the ointment here, but this makes sense!
I'm not opposed to having the government operate on "Christian" holidays--let's give it a whirl! Let's see who shows up! We don't honor any other religion's holidays-so fair is fair. Businesses can have a policy of discretionary days off to compensate for the change and employees can choose which days are best for them.

I know this is supposed to be satire but sometimes the truth hurts!

24. Let's destruct the stupidity.

Except, FReeptard, that in the first amendment, it states I have the right to petition the Government for redress of greivances. The Sedition Act was the law too, in 1798, but it died a quick death. Laws that violate the Constitution are wrong and should be broken or overturned. That's called being a good American. And I'd rather be a good American than a "law abiding" American.

I agree. My holidays are ignored. Being Jewish, my important holy days are ignored, schools are open and it's business as usual at the Government. The only days I believe should be taken off are:
  1. New Year's Day
  2. MLK Day
  3. President's Day
  4. Columbus Day
  5. Memorial Day
  6. Independence Day
  7. Labor Day
  8. Veterans Day
  9. Thanksgiving Day and the Friday after
  10. New Year's Eve

Thanksgiving is not religous. It's a secular National Holiday.

Again, see above about Thanksgiving.

In fact....

I think that our government should work on Sundays (initially set aside for worshipping God...) because, after all, our government says that it should be just another day....

What do you all think????

Since there are wage and Hour laws, this is impossible. 40 Hours. Government isn't saying you must go to your place of worship. The weekend is for anything. Short vacation trips, Football, etc.

If this idea gets to enough people, maybe our elected officials will stop giving in to the minority opinions and begin, once again, to represent the 'majority' of ALL of the American people.

SO BE IT........

Give in to minority of opinions? Hey, FReeptard, you are the minority. A rather loud, obnoxious minority.

Please Dear Lord,
Give us the help needed to keep you in our country!

Oh yes. Because G-d is in danger of leaving our country. If you want to worship, do so on your own time. Don't use the government to impart your religious beliefs on me. We fought the Taliban to stop that.

What fucking bullshit this email is! What illogical non-sequitirs.
