Bush's assertion that NYT's outing his illegal spying hurts us is evil.
Bush says that the article on his warrantless domestic surveillance tells our enemy something.

Here's the two things that the NYT told the world:

1) The NSA engages in wiretapping

2) without the warrants easily available from the secret FISA judge.

Now, as to the first, even terrorists must know that the US wiretaps. They watch movies.

The second is of no use. Why should a terrorist cell care if Bush does it legally or not?

Here's who gets new, useful info: not terrorists, but innocent Americans, who have discovered that Bush so hates their freedom so much that he won't give them the effort of the fifteen minutes it takes Bushites to give wrong intel to a judge and get a warrant.

And that's how the NYT, in Bush's view, did wrong. It told the truth about him to America. Not terrorists, not security, nothing like that. Nobody should tell the truth because that might lead to someone stopping Bush. And we cant have that.

1. He's sounding more and more dictator-like every day...
He's a twisted individual, in a scary Stalin way. I think he's truly a psychopath, and believes that the Times is wrong to question him on this.

9. Exactly...
And the apathy of Americans is frightening. People ought to be in the streets screaming every week, but they won't until something drastic happens to them, and by then it's too late. Sadly, it's becoming easier and easier to see how the Third Reich rose in Germany.

:scared:  :grr:

8. And too many americans go along.
He says, "I'm going to do what I think is best" and they tune out to the clear implication that he will break the law and imprison citizens without trial and lie EVERY FUCKING DAY until he gets his way.

2. Which all begs the question ...
... just WHO was on that wire-tapping list that the White House KNEW no FISA judge would approve?

3. I hope they ask that question in the hearings.
The only reason not to get a warrant from a secret court that has granted 100% of 1000+ requests is that you know that your request will not be allowed, because you are asking to spy on an individual or group who has opposed the president, not terrorism suspects.

6. Just who is the "enemy" that Bush wanted to keep in the dark?
Why, it's not alqaeda. It's Americans. And the judiciary, and congress, those few that cared.

Of course he's spying on political enemies.
