Does DIEBOLD Tend to ATM Machines?
Today, while shopping I seen a DIEBOLD van parked next to a man working on a ATM machine, just outside the main shopping area.

Is there another company under this name that repairs, or tends to ATM machines?

1. ATM's are their #1 business. Voting machines are secondary.
Dibold supplies well over 50% of the atm's in the US.

13. Thanks for all the responses...
... Like I said, I almost flipped - literally. First time I ever seen or noticed one of their trucks.

It was one of those rare, freaky moments.

2. Yes, they do.
And isn't it interesting how they are able to be so accurate and can print out a receipt in that context??

4. Yep. I always fuck with the one who comes in the stadium.
I work at Lincoln Financial Field and the Diebold dude comes in every so often to cash up the machines. I always tell him how amazed I am that they can get the money correct down to the penny but can't seem to get the voting down. At first he was offended and tried to defend the company but it's become a running joke. He voted for Kerry BTW.

5. And strange to say their ATMs are highly accurate, almost never wrong.
Could it have something to do with the fact that ATMs are closely audited and checked and are required to produce bank statements that bank customers always check closely to prevent fraud?

Wow! I wonder ... But no we don't need that. We can trust these guys. Why would anybody cheat in a political election, even if they have the motive, the opportunity, and the knowledge that they can never be caught? It doesn't make sense.

7. Yes, and they're good
I work for a large bank, and Diebold has our ATM contract. The company's workers are very courteous and efficient. Having worked with Diebold and seen specs for what features their ATMs have, it makes me furious. Diebold could easily create voting machines with paper receipts-- easily!

8. Paper BALLOTS!! Not paper Receipts!!
Ballots have legal standing and can be used in an audit and a recount.. Receipts do not.

9. "Diebold Secures The Founding Documents Of America's History"
If you really want irony - from their website:

Diebold Secures The Founding Documents Of America's History

Diebold, Incorporated is now safeguarding the foundation of America’s history, the Charters of Freedom: the U.S. Constitution, the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights, in three customized high-tech vaults installed at the National Archives Building in Washington, D.C.

- How's this for a new company motto: "Diebold, protecting America's god-damned pieces of paper for over a fiftieth of a century!"

Just when you think you've heard it all (daily under this GOP corrupt gang!)

Thanks for that tidbit. I literally flipped when I seen the truck's logo.
