Let’s Review -> Fascism, FASCISM, F-A-S-C-I-S-M!!
How does Bush* hate Democracy, let us count the ways….

  • Controlled Mass Media- NYT censorship of illegal domestic spying

  • Obsession with National Security - Fear is used as a motivational tool

  • Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause - Terror, terror, insurgents, terror!

  • Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights - Gitmo, Abu Ghraib, renditioning

  • Supremacy of the Military - $5b/mo to Iraq while New Orleans remains in ruins

  • Powerful and Continuing Nationalism - “You’re with us or against us“…wave that flag!

  • Religion and Government are Intertwined - "God told me to strike at al Qaida...and Saddam...and now I am determined to solve the problem in the Middle East."

  • Corporate Power is Protected - Halliburton no-bid contracts, airlines bailed out, bankrupty and tort “reform” Big Pharma protected from liability

  • Rampant Cronyism and Corruption - DeLay, Frist, Abramoff, Cunningham
  • Fraudulent Elections - 2000, 2002, 2004.…Diebold. ES&S, Sequoia…. OHIO , OHIO, OHIO!

  • Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts - snooping on libraries

  • "Our deeds determine us as much as we determine our deeds." - George Eliot

    15. Hmm...
A warm seat in Gitmo almost sounds more inviting than a cold, moldy home in New Orleans. I doubt if the Stazi will be interested in me or my satirical graphics knowing that I probably won't live much longer in the USA if I can't rebuild my home and no one helps us rebuild and protect New Orleans. So far, it looks like the government is going to abandon us all together... did Bushler even mention Katrina victims in his speech today? I didn't hear the speech, but I'd bet all my bread crumbs that he did NOT mention us!

    17. You're staying remarkably upbeat and creative
in the face of such adversity. Perhaps that's what's helping to maintain what's left of your insanity? If I were independently wealthy, my checkbook would take your troubles away but, alas, I'm at risk for losing my own home for reasons less dramatic but equally devastating.

No, Katrina wasn't mentioned in the speech...that's so "yesterday" when "Freedom and democracy are on the march in Iraq!"

    12. Fascists HATE Liberals.
Liberals are for freedom of thought, expression, association, press -- as well as one-man, one-vote.

    <snip>

Michael Ledeen though may be the signal source to beware: his books included Universal Fascism, Freedom Betrayed, and The War Against the Terror Masters. Here is a taste of Ledeen:

Ledeen believes man is basically evil and cannot be left to his own desires. Therefore, he must have proper and strong leadership, just as Machiavelli argued. Only then can man achieve good, as Ledeen explains: “In order to achieve the most noble accomplishments, the leader may have to ‘enter into evil.’ This is the chilling insight that has made Machiavelli so feared, admired and challenging…we are rotten,” argues Ledeen. “It’s true that we can achieve greatness if, and only if, we are properly led.” (Ibid.)

Ron Paul analyzes this as meaning, “In other words, man is so depraved that individuals are incapable of moral, ethical and spiritual greatness, and achieving excellence and virtue can only come from a powerful authoritarian leader.” Paul then asks what we all should be asking today, “What depraved ideas are these to now be influencing our leaders in Washington?” (Ibid.)

“Lying is central to the survival of nations and to the success of great enterprises, because if our enemies can count on the reliability of everything you say, your vulnerability is enormously increased....Look at the map of the world: national boundaries have not been drawn by peaceful men leading lives of spiritual contemplation. National boundaries have been established by war, and national character has been shaped by struggle, most often bloody struggle.”
    --Michael Ledeen

There you have it Religious Reich, we're all evil, eh?

    A few of my favorites:

*Demanding Party Loyalty above National Security (Plame Outing and Coverup)

*Military “PURGED” of commanders loyal to the Country and not the Party

*Whitewashes and Cover Ups masquerading as Governmental Investigations

*Secret Prisons where people are "disappeared"

*Dismantling of Individual Protections from Government

    *Torture as a National Policy

    *Police State Powers Increasing

*One Party Government (No Effective Opposition Party)

*Absurd (OBSCENE) and expanding Military Budgets

*Dismantling of Humanitarian Programs to pay for Military

*Restricting access to information about government

*Restricting access to information contradicting Republican Party ideals (birth control).

*Rewriting (forging) scientific data to support Republican Party ideals

    *State Owned Media

    *Persecution of Dissent

    *HyperNationalism masquerading as Patriotism

*Emerging SMALL Class of POWERFUL ELITES

    *Bogus and unverifiable elections

*Private Police and Security Forces not accountable to the Public.

*Republican Party Secret Police to screen at Bush* appearances

*NO Civilian Control and Oversight of Military

*Highest percentage imprisoned in Western World

*Potemkin Villages for the Press and Red Cross (Iraq and Guantanamo)

    *Rampant Historical Revisionism

*Privileges and Access for Republican Party Members Only

    *Ruling by Executive Order

    *Judiciary controlled by Executive Branch

*Legislative Organs controlled by Executive Branch

*Power Consolidated and Concentrated in One Person

*Government Officials WARNING citizens to be careful what we say

*Controlled and Scripted PUBLIC appearances of Republican Party Officials

*Government encouraging citizens to spy on each other

*Secret spying on law abiding citizens

*Using the Military to "Police" citizens

*Manufactured phony State Heroes (Tillman, Lynch)

*State Medals awarded by Cronyism and Republican Party Loyalty, not merit

    *Governmental business cloaked I secrecy.

*Government “contracts” awarded in secret to Party Members and Cronies

*Odor of Arrogance and Contempt from Republican Party Officials

    21. I think that we ought to utilize the boycott as a weapon, after all these
are corporate interests that we are dealing with. The only things that they respect are PROFITS!
We should start by boycotting Cable news. Lots of advertising is already going from them to the internet. Lets make somone write the song, "The blogger killed the corporate media whore."

    26. Disdain for...
    The:

    Poor
    Medicare
Social Security (started paying-in at 14 yrs of age!)
Pretense to the tube-watching masses that we're divided, when in fact we probably were not that divided.
Culture wars pushed by their controlled faux-MSN.
Taking rights from our Democrat Party in the House & Senate, like today's latest news!
Becoming a military nation - One Nation Under the GOP!
    Higher Education/Pell Grants
    Disability

You name it... Canada sure sounds better every day.

How does the media (at least some of them, hopefully) live with themselves!?!

    28. That list was developed by Dr. Lawrence Britt.....
and you forgot a very important one....RAMPANT SEXISM...ie...escalation of violent and humilating porn; lack of funding for child care; no longer keeping statistics on women at the Labor Bureau; cut of funds for domestic violence victims; constant push to control women's reproductive freedom.....shit, these neocons want to go back to some vision they have in their heads of the 1950's where all women are mothers and they wear high heels when vacuuming....

Look at TV and the images they are portraying of women...I don't see any Murphy Browns, Cybills, Roseannes, Designing Women, or Golden Girls anymore....all of the sitcoms are starring fat, unattractive white men with very attractive and shapely wives...or how about '2 1/2 men'...now that's another pile of crap. I can't watch TV anymore...I feel sorry for the young women who are watching this crap and being barraged with this brainwashing of narrow stereotypical gender roles...
