Defeatism may have its partisan uses, but it is not justified by the facts. For every scene of destruction in Iraq, there are more scenes of rebuilding and hope.

Oh yeah, a defeatist is someone who isn't positive or optimistic enough, doesn't have resolve, isn't firm, shows no evidence of leadership, has little character, is definitely not confident, and is not under control because they don't follow natural law, and ultimately they will pay the price, in the form of despair.

You find the secret affective codephrases in the above, I'll capitalize them later. I call it "talking Bush". Of course I could think of better things to say to a ... oh, nevermind.

"Defeatist" implies a zealous, personal follower of defeat, which is of course ridiculous... outside of certain enemy podiatrists, who are also legitimate targets. Don't impugn the defeat-ite community by balling them in with those losers!
