Each of us now...is a minuteman! (Please read and act accordingly)

David Van Os, democratic candidate for Texas Attorney General posted earlier about our Constitutional Crisis. It's at the Texas Forum and worth a read...

"This is the beginning of the fork in the road we've all feared but known in our hearts for the last 5 years was going to happen. Bush is daring the country to stop him from claiming unlimited executive power. If he gets away with this, our republican democracy will hereafter exist in name only."

2. Yep, that's it
Unfortunately, Americans no longer have the will to fight for their freedom, I mean in any terms beyond the ballot box, so I imagine it will be a fairly easy coup for the neocons.

3. The pessimist in me agrees
The optimist in me thinks that if enough people get pushed out of their comfort zones by the perceived dangers of a rogue administration, a few of them might stand up for themselves.

Here's to hope! :toast: :hi:

4. I know, I have those moments too when I think Americans
will finally develop a spine and stand up for themselves. Unfortunately, I have to acknowledge that the available evidence would suggest otherwise. Here's to hoping I'm wrong. :toast:

6. Speaking of Spines...
Here's a guy who's got a spine and is using it to try to clean things up in Texas.

Backbone Campaign Executive Director Bill Moyer said, "David Van Os is neither weak-kneed nor a bleeding heart. He exhibits strong, principled, and compassionate progressive leadership, leadership with backbone. His impressive grasp of history, and his commitment to the Constitution and the guiding principles of this democracy, make him the perfect progressive Attorney General candidate for these pivotal times."

He also has a lot of constitutional law experience and years of fighting for labor.

David is the "real deal."

Both are on letter size paper with a lovely red, white, and blue border.

One nation under surveillance

Thanks to DU members who gave me the ideas. I get a lot of looks from my car window displays, and I've had many thumbs ups, and seen many people stop to read them. Every little bit helps to spread the word.

Edit for punctuation.

7. I am usually not real big on bumper stickers
but I saw one a couple of months ago that I would consider putting on my car. It read:

"I love my country, but fear my government."

8. That's a good one.
I've never had bumper stickers or window signs, etc. until the take over by this regime. I've never felt this frightened for my country before.

9. You and me both.
However, with things being what they are, such public statements could get one marked for the government to take a close look at. If you know what I mean.

10. I'm being as kind as I can.
What I really want to put on my window is:

Impeach the lying weasel, and all his sidekicks, too!
