easy. Simply call the judge on call (one always on call 24/7 with beeper) wake her/him up and tell him/her that you have a request for an emergency order for placing of surveillance and why. Better damn be an emergency is all I can say, they don't like to be awakened unless it is. Don't let chimpy bushitler persuade you otherwise as it is simply more bullshit for him to conduct his political cheating endeavors. He's a fucking cheater we all know that, why are we having this conversation?

1. Exactly. He should be stepping down today. Instead, his appointee
Gonzales is telling the media that he is "educating" the American people and Congress why Junior has a right to use our Constitution for toilet paper.

http://www.startribune.com/stories/587/5790250.html

Gonzales would not say who in Congress was briefed or when, but said that more lawmakers have been told of the program in recent days, including Specter. "We're engaged now in a process of educating the American people ... and educating the American Congress,'' Gonzales said.

3. For a month after 9-11, maybe
In the confusion right after 9-11, most people would have forgiven a President who didn't follow all the procedures for the first month. However, the law governing wiretaps does allow retroactive approvals by a court, if there is an emergency. Those approvals were not used. Also, it appears that these wiretaps continued way past 2001.

I thought it was cute the way Bush said that illegal wiretaps were used "more than 30 times." Yes, 1,000 is more than 30.

4. Depends... If he were found to have been listening or watching someone
who was about to spill the beans on the election hack, I doubt he would have been forgiven.
