Last night, I appreciated President Bush for the first time...

My girlfriend being in Jamaica and all, I was busying myself by nerding out on the PlayStation 2, in between trips to the laundry room to put a dent in the Everest-size pile in our bedroom. On one such trip, I happened to glance at the clock, which read "9:15."

"Ah, fuck," I growled to my dog, who stared up at me, head cocked to one side. The cat studiously ignored me, as always, from across the room. "I missed half of Family Guy."

I plopped down in front of the TV, determined to at least catch the latter half. Upon turning on Fox, a news anchor informed me that the president had just wrapped up his speech, and that they'd be returning to regular programming. They started Family Guy from the beginning of the show.

So, thank you, President Bush, for insisting on bloviating through primetime. Without you, I'd have missed my show. As it was, I didn't catch a word that crapped out of the president's mouth, but I did see a classic episode of the show. Stewie in a bubble is even better than Stewie under normal conditions.
