Quote from WH Press Conf - This Jawdropper Needs to be Repeated !
Edited on Mon Dec-19-05 04:07 PM by bj2110
--------------
QUESTION: Americans thought they weren't being spied on in calls overseas; why not within the country if the threat is so great?

BUSH: We will, under current law, if we have to. We will monitor those calls.
----------------

And yes, he said "monitor". Domestic calls. "If we have to". What lies will be told to convince the sheep that he "has to"? Which US citizens will become dispensible in the War of the Wealthy? Which "certain unalienable rights" will be violated? How many attacks on these human rights become law as part of a new Patriot Act or similar?

History has been through this before. Sometimes, it takes massive violence to avoid the calamity. Let us all pray that the system that our forefathers created can withstand this brash outrage before it comes to a head. Let us all hope that our elections aren't completely stripped, so that our country can be reclaimed the right way.

But even more important, let us all stand up and make our voices heard. Take action. Tell the world that our government is not operating with the consent of the governed. It's the only way that this path leads to a positive outcome. All other paths lead to violence, secession, & war.

1. I commented here when I heard that......
I couldn't believe I heard it correctly and asked for verification. Sure enough the chimp did say it.

I wonder if that sound bite will be replayed for the talking heads.

5. Give the rest, he said he'd go through FISA.
He went on to say that for domestic calls he'd go through FISA.

Still a liar.

7. He is admitting we are a POLICE STATE now
Edited on Mon Dec-19-05 05:37 PM by Julius Civitatus
And he is proudly telling us he can break the law if he wants to.

And Alberto "Waterboarder" Gonzalez told us today that Bush is above the law, and like a monarch, he can break the law if he pleases.

And McCain told us yesterday we can break the law and use torture because "some torture work," according to him.

And Cheney proudly claimed over the weekend they can do no wrong, and threatened to keep violating international laws "for our own good."

And so on, and so forth...

WAKE UP AMERICA!!!

THESE PEOPLE HAVE TURNED OUR COUNTRY INTO A DE-FACTO POLICE STATE!!!

11. Yup. Their philosophy is: "If we do it, then it's OK. Even when it's not."

8. This is going to take a few days to truly explode
He's digging himself in deeper, but when experts on the law explain this to the press, he's going to get HAMMERED. Someone had a post here about some wingnut telling him only terrorist sympathizers would complain. Until he said, well, then President Hillary Clinton will be happy to have the same power.

Use that one arguing with these punks. It will make them swallow their dentures.
