6. Kickin' it for the ACLU

I still need to send a check this month (so that I can continue as a proud card-carrying member). I joined for the first time last year, and I'm embarrassed not to have not joined them many years ago. I think they just might end up being the organization that uncovers the evidence that finally brings Bush down! (We certainly know by now that the press ain't gonna do it).

9. Absolutely!

In fact this may be blasphemous to say on DU, but at this frightening time in our history, if I could give my last dollar to only one organization right now, I'd give it to the ACLU, rather than to the Democratic Party or any of the Democratic Party's candidates. Luckily, I don't have to make that choice, but the ACLU's existence and efforts right now are hugely important to the country and the preservation of our Constitution, and I hope lots of DU'ers who don't already contribute to them will do so now, if they're financially able to.
