Edited on Mon Dec-19-05 06:54 PM by LSK
But at least he reduces the # of stocks to look thru if you are playing that game.

He was on the Colbert Report and he didnt like Bush on the economy.

2. He knows his shit
and he is worth listening to. He's an incurable bull on the market but that's cause he knows there is always money to be made somehow. I wish more Dem activists were as energetic as he is about his passions.

3. He's worth a hundred million at least.
He made HUGE money as the head of a hedge fund in the 1990s. He is a Democrat who supported Al Gore in 2000. He knows his stuff, but I don't take him as seriously as I used to, because he can swing like a pendulum in his stock picks--hot today on a stock, cold tomorrow.

4. He swings like a pendulum because he is a trader
it's probably tough for him to be much of a long term investor.

5. Have you all "Hyping" him made more than 6% this year off his Ravings?
This post doesn't count if you're a "Day Trader" because most DU'ers have jobs and stuff and aren't able to "Play that Game."

So...how much did you make off "Mad Money" this year just from Stocks? Fess Up...

6. I bought sirius stocks, boy has it been a money sink
Well, it's just been about a month. But it's going down. I thought Howard Stern would help Sirius stocks, but it's not working out that way. And Cramer was saying buy as many as you can.

9. I am an investor and I bought three of Cramer's must picks (to see what

will win) shortly after the 2000 Dot Com Implosion. Bad stuff and I knew better but got kind of hyped into his spin...when he was only on the WEB and not like NOW where he has in own shows to pump and hype his picks while he "Day Trades" off his hypes.

He can buy thousands of shares of an individual stock he hypes with his personal wealth, so with just a penny jump in a stock he hypes on his various CNBC Performances he can make Millions the next morning after a hype on his show the night before, while those who bought his picks for a "longer haul" end up in the ditch.

Every once in awhile...like a great "Con Man" he will throw you a bone..a stock that will give you a pay back...but he's like going to Vegas for a weekend. Just remember that the owners always beat the little guy in the end and the "odds" are always stacked for the ones who own the Casino's who every once in awhile statistically allow some person to go home with a bundles to keep the folks coming.....

He's fun to watch...although I wonder when he's going to have a stroke from all that blood rushing to his head with his OTT Exhuberance over whatever he's pushing.

I'd just be very careful. It's all about E-TAINMENT...these days...dontch'a know....:-(

7. "I don't know if he knows his poop or not since I don't gamble in market."
If you are not in the market, you don't need to worry about him. If you are in the market, you still have to do your own research and treat Cramer as simply another opinion, there are other sources of info out there, Motley Fool, Investors Business Daily, industry specific analysts, etc. Always take Cramer with a grain of salt. Cramer tends to be more of trader, so a lot of his picks tend to spike early and many go down a short period afterwards, so it is hard to sometimes judge his performance. He himself has the power to move the market (for a short period of time) in some stocks simply with his recommendations (although that is a dangerous game to play).

If you haven't followed stocks for a while beforehand, I would be careful with Cramer because he has a tendency to suck new investors into it and he can sometimes overwhelm people with the number of picks he throws out....... before you invest real money, study and paper trade. The stock market is not for everyone.

8. I know he's a big fan of Clinton
but that's about all I know. He was talking about it one day on Imus. Also, I've heard him say it on his show a number of times. I know nothing about stocks and all that but I watch a few minutes every once in a while because he is so crazy. I wish I had his energy, even if it were for just one day a month. I'd get a helluva lot done in that one day.

10. Krispy Kreme Donut Head
Cramer has a radio show and one segment is called "am I diversified".Callers reveal their mix of stocks and stocks with stocks,Cramer approves or disapproves but nobody seems to question the definition of diversification.
The principle of compounding is weakened if your money is spread out in several mutual funds as a way to diversify.Again the mix of mutual funds and mutual funds with mutual funds is not diversification.
Americans like a success story and Cramer sells the sizzle, the media should be treated like a cartoon. When I watch I imagine silly sound effects and an occasional KaBlamm! graphic to snap me out of the narrative.

11. He's right about 60% of the time.
When he's wrong, he's very wrong. He takes enormous risks, much larger than I'm willing to take. You need a lot of money to play the way he does.
