2. Quite the opposite. I say Merry Christmas to people who know I'm
one of those commie pinko libruls. That's way more fun.

4. I agree. Go with the unexpected. Tell them you wish they got rid of Santa
so we'd remember it's Jesus birthday.

5. Maybe Bush is!
He ended his press conference today with "Happy Holidays." I wonder how many people got mad at that?

(Answer: None, because he's a Republican)

6. LOL, yes. Yes I am.
And also the completely non-religious and entirely appropriate "Season's Greetings", although it is a slightly awkward phrase.

Happy Holidays, said cheerfully or pointedly, is really fun to say this year.

8. No, I say it to be inclusive.
I wish Christians all the best for their religious celebration and mean it. Except for the ones using it as a political weapon.

10. I'm a Christian
and I say "happy holiday's" if I don't know the person. It's only using the manners my mother taught me. ;)

11. I am Christian and I wish Happy Holidays to people that I do not
know their personal beliefs and practices. I am not offended when someone does the same to me. We have bigger fish to fry and Dems need to stay focused. Right wingers would love us to get caught up in this nonsense issue, and forget that we are slowly but surely losing our personal liberties. Anyone that truly understands Christianity realizes that acceptance is a personal choice solely. One does not need to be offended if another does not believe the same way they do, because in the end--it is just you and the big guy.

13. its pretty hard to say happy anything

our soldiers are in harm's way because of the liars in control, people all around our area are losing jobs, benefits, health care, their homes. Its pretty hard to feel festive if you read any news at all.

15. I say it...
but I was taught it was because there are so many holidays around this time of year, it's just more convenient. Saves you from having to ramble on with, "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year." Also, I grew up in a neighborhood split between mostly Jewish and Catholic people, so you never knew whether to say Merry Christmas or Happy Chanukah, and Happy Holidays was kind of a shortcut so you wouldn't have to be apologizing 50% of the time. :)

16. I was corrected by my repug boss today
when I gave him his gift and said "Happy Holidays". He responded with, "You mean, Merry Christmas." I thought that was pretty rude. Instead of thanking me for giving him a gift (a small token, nothing extravagant) he corrects me? I said, "No, I meant Happy HOlidays, but Merry Christmas, too."

Frankly I felt like I had a wet blanket thrown over my good wishes. Sometimes I say Happy Holidays and sometimes I say Merry Christmas. But now repugs are so friggin' sensitive about this supposed War on Christmas it's ridiculous!

17. I say Merry Christmas
to Repubs with wisp of pity and sadness
as if consoling a poor unfortunate brain-damaged soul
so bound with hallucinations of benevolent super-beings,
intelligent designs, end-of-time raptures and the delusion
that this "god" will meet them in a fantasy paradise in the sky.

There there poor babies.

:-) kidding jeez!

19. I'm a Christian. Christmas has always offended me.
I celebrate the birth of Christ every moment of my life.
If I had children, I would tell them to live like I do. To do what they feel. Not to robotically switch on to celebrate mode.
In fact, I don't say anything differently to anyone during this time of year than I would during any other time of year.
I also do not automatically say "good morning" to people, unless it really IS a good morning.

But I'm not like the masses. I'm me.

20. Seems kinda pointless
I went with "Happy Solstice" though for my Wiccan nephew.

I asked a Christian friend of mine why she would wish Merry Christmas to, say, a Jew, if she knew it would piss that person off. Why wish anyone a happy anything when you don't actually give a damn if they are happy?

I think if you read Jesus words more closely you'd understand. Let people say what ever they want.
