What about the fact that he (Bush) says he will continue to do it?
He now knows that there is disagreement as to whether these are legal surveillances.

So, I guess he just said to Congress - "yeah, and who's gonna make me stop?"

So, who's gonna make him stop?

Bush must WANT a Constitutional showdown or he would have found some way to back down diplomatically from this stance. I think he just told us - bring it on! So, I say, let's bring it on!

Yep. That's exactly what he did. He bragged that he was going to break the law again, and even tagged on a little "as long as I'm president". Basically saying, "what are you gonna do about it?"

3. I think that's what shocked me the most today
His blatant admission that he would continue to spy.

Next thing you know, he'll be declaring him self King, dispanding the Congress, and doing away w/ elections.

He truly believes he is a country unto himself.
