Is/was there really an Agent Mike watching DU?

Who discovered that DU has its own FBI surveilance agen, how was it discovered, and how do we know his name is/was Mike? Can anyone tell me this story again?

I was around when it happened, but I just don't remember the details.

If we do in fact have our very own agent, does anyone know how I can send him some cookies, hot coffee, and maybe some Chinese takeout? It's got to be a hellishly boring job doing W's bidding, and I think we should show him some love.

She made a point of giving "agent Mike" a shout-out, on occasion, in later research threads on DU. "Agent Mike" has since become another form of reference to Big Brother, and an acknowledgment that this is becoming a Fascist state.

and I have been a member of DU for couple years, the revelation of Agent Mike came from Bev Harris of http://www.blackboxvoting.org/. I don't remember the exact circumstances but I do believe it was a case of someone telling someone else then two Bev Harris who, in turn, posted it on DU. She used to post here quite often. Not much these days if at all

Agent Mike's full name is Mike Levine. I don't know it he is actually still the one monitoring this site, it could very likely be someone else now.

It used to be a sort of common practice that on Friday afternoons, a bunch of people would post a thread waving to Agent Mike, wish him a good weekend, tell him he was wasting taxpayer dollars as well as his time, or even a few would post to tell him to go f__k himself.

I kind of wish he would make his presence known somehow. Heck, why not make a post?

I just never understood the origin of it all, especially not the part about it coming from Bev.
