I'm too stupid to understand why Iraqis are driven to riot for against rising gas prices in a country awash with oil. The crime is the money that flowed through the Coalition Authority's hands when Chalabi and his bunch wer in charge.

Then there's Cheney and Talibani. I can't get that image out of my head of the two dinosaurs plopped down together in their displendor.

Where's the money go these days after it gets to the Interior Ministry, IF it gets to the Ministry?

2. Here...
"The government defended the move, saying fuel was still cheap in Iraq and the hike in prices was necessary to bolster the flagging economy.

With the oil sector still struggling, the government is spending $6 billion a year to import oil products from other countries. It is under pressure from the World Bank to cut subsidies which keep prices down.

The government says it hopes to raise $500 million through the price increase."

3. The last I heard, you and I were subsidizing their
gas so that they wouldn't get the impression that we were stealing their country.

I guess that's over.
