LIAR!!! Bush speech, April 20, 2004:"A wiretap requires a court order"
LIAR

Bush speech, April 20, 2004:

Secondly, there are such things as roving wiretaps. Now, by the way, any time you hear the United States government talking about wiretap, it requires -- a wiretap requires a court order. Nothing has changed, by the way. When we're talking about chasing down terrorists, we're talking about getting a court order before we do so. It's important for our fellow citizens to understand, when you think Patriot Act, constitutional guarantees are in place when it comes to doing what is necessary to protect our homeland, because we value the Constitution.

2. Is there a chance Bush does not know, or he did not understand...
when/if explained to him? I have my doubts abouts his current level of functioning and impaired cognition. Megalomaniacs are not easy people to approach when they talk to Deity.

3. Good find!
Seems very clear from this, given he said it THREE years AFTER he was doing an end around the law requiring court orders, he KNEW he was breaking the law. All the spinning being done by Gonzales and the rest of the cabal means squat.

5. There are volumes of these things
Sooooo many damning quotes from the Bush crime family.... "No one foresaw the levees breaking," "the insurgency in in its final throes," "There is no doubt that Saddam has weapons of mass destruction," "greeted as liberators" the Iraq-bin Laden connection.

When is someone going to stand up on the floor of Congress and recite this list?

20. The one line that keeps rolling through my mind, is...
"I need more power, more flexibility!"

And all the other cronies said it every day..."The pResident needs more power, more flexibility!" Well they gave it to Bush, because they were ignorant enough to believe another of Bush's untrue statements(LIES..."Trust Me!" OR HOW ABOUT..."Faith Based Government!"

Anyone who truly trusted Bush, is too stupid, to help govern this country.

The GOP already has enough "Flexibility" to stick their heads up their @$$es! It's too damned bad they never had the brains to pull their heads back out. I'll bet you Bush spied on any Repig that didn't walk the line too. VOTE after VOTE, hardly a single GOPer has said NO to Bush yet, so they bear some of the guilt too.

23. Don't forget
Bush said he was going to bring decency back to the white house. Also... he was going to be a uniter not a divider.

24. Bush said many many things and of those many things...
hardly any of those many many things have been true. Bush is as full of shit as a "HOLIDAY" turkey!

WHERE is all that GOP MORALITY? BUSH knows what color panties Wolf Biltzer wears every day and how many times Bill O'Really called that lady who worked for him to beg for sex. He knows all sees all!

9. As long as this administration continues to investigate itself,
it won't matter how damning their past remarks might appear. Nothing will happen. We need Congressional hearings and investigations.

11. I do believe those hearings will be held, Arkansas Granny.
Lots of people are teed off, including many Repugs. This is an outrage, and some aren't taking it lightly. One of my disappointments is that X-mas break is upon us; I don't want this swept under the rug once everyone leaves town.

15. Considering the Christmas break, this was probably one of the
best times for this to come out, from Bush's point of view. If it doesn't get taken up after the new year, we will need to contact our Representatives and get them on the stick. This can't be allowed to die.

19. from atrios
...the president's quote from the April 2004 speech on the thread below reveals that Bush was fully aware he was breaking the law. Nothing he can say now changes the fact that during the middle of this illegal operation, he was quite clear on the fact that it was illegal.

Now he's saying that contrary to his statements in April, 2004, that he in fact DOESN'T value the Constitution, and DOESN'T believe it applies to him. That is in and of itself an impeachable offense, given that he swore to protect and uphold the constitution when taking the oath of office not just once, but twice.

This is as open and shut as a case can get.

21. This is the third copy of this subject on the Greatest page.
Don't people check to see what has already been posted?

I am not the kind to post this. It just seems weird that there are three separate posts. And this subject originated on DU, and migrated to the other websites.

25. "NOTHING HAS CHANGED, BY THE WAY." And there it is!
I had better hear this over and over by the Democrats.

That is a flat out lie, and he talked at length about this, it wasn't some one phrase deal. The entire passage is of course a great ditch of bullshit.
