Seems very clear from this, given he said it THREE years AFTER he was doing an end around the law requiring court orders, he KNEW he was breaking the law. All the spinning being done by Gonzales and the rest of the cabal means squat.

it won't matter how damning their past remarks might appear. Nothing will happen. We need Congressional hearings and investigations.

Lots of people are teed off, including many Repugs. This is an outrage, and some aren't taking it lightly. One of my disappointments is that X-mas break is upon us; I don't want this swept under the rug once everyone leaves town.

...the president's quote from the April 2004 speech on the thread below reveals that Bush was fully aware he was breaking the law. Nothing he can say now changes the fact that during the middle of this illegal operation, he was quite clear on the fact that it was illegal.

Now he's saying that contrary to his statements in April, 2004, that he in fact DOESN'T value the Constitution, and DOESN'T believe it applies to him. That is in and of itself an impeachable offense, given that he swore to protect and uphold the constitution when taking the oath of office not just once, but twice.

This is as open and shut as a case can get.

That is a flat out lie, and he talked at length about this, it wasn't some one phrase deal. The entire passage is of course a great ditch of bullshit.
