1. Once he's ruined America, where are we supposed to live?
I'm not comfortable with the idea of moving to another country, as some have. This is my country, damn it. I wouldn't fit in anywhere else - I don't want to live as an outsider. (I know, if I stay here long enough I will feel like an outsider in my own country!)

There is a movement in Vermont, and perhaps other states, to secede. I know DUers don't like the idea (I posted about it yesterday), but I would sure feel more at home in an independent Vermont than in Spain, or even Canada. Or in Bushtopia.

5. This land is your land, this land is my land
From California to the New York Island.

Vermont is a cute little state but isolation can be a bit stifling. And even my own Texas has its good points.

Why give up any of it? After all, this land was made for you & me.

7. In order to have any kind of large scale secession there would,
Edited on Tue Dec-20-05 09:12 AM by olafvikingr
in my mind, have to be a large scale split in the Armed Forces from this Administration. I am certain any attempts at secession on a large scael would result in a widespread military crackdown. Which would lead to guerrilla warfare, which would lead to, well, another Iraq right here at home. This would generally be VERY BAD!

The question really becomes what is the tipping point? When do Americans become fed up enough that they take to the streets in force, either peacefully or violently?

The problems is that most seem far too complacent and willing to just accept this stream of criminal activity. Either way right now, this Country is in big trouble.

It seems very clear to me that we do not have a functional Democraacy in this Country right now. When one man, or close knit group is making all the decisions and thumbing their noses at the rest of the government, we have a dictatorship. Plain and simple, no candy coating required.

9. Once a state or group of states secedes
all hell breaks lose. They have to raise an army to defend themselves from New Hampshire. They have to raise all their own food and Vermont isn't exactly the breadbasket. Have to do their own manufacturing.

It's a mess.

6. You are correct, Sir.
Lately I've been thinking again about where to move to escape this vapid electorate and the avarice of it's leaders. I am appalled daily by new revelations of corruption, stupidity, religion-twisted logic and the complete flouting of the principles on which our country was founded.

I'm just disgusted. :(

for what should be and is not.

Hoping still that his creation can be squashed before it's too late.

Do we have the strength?

10. Sure, everyone just needs to watch a few episodes of Survivor
first.
