I like Clark for the most part but....
Edited on Mon Oct-20-03 10:16 PM by Some Moran
Issues 2002 made a mistake that inflates his social freedom ranking. They inadvertently gave him a 10 on social freedom for his position on drug use, but his only statement on drugs is that marijuana decriminalisation is a bad idea, which should actually net him a 0.

1. He said something else I believe...
... during a NH town hall debate. Specifically that the federal gov't shouldn't devote effort to prosecuting sick medical marijuana users.

So while I'd like him to be a Deadhead, it's not bad.

5. To clarify...
The only statement recorded on the site is that he opposes decriminalising marijuana. As such, he should have a 0 instead of a 10.

Should the site be more thorough? Absolutely, but based on what it does have, the conclusion is erroneous.

6. You can read the other candidate's position on drugs here...
http://www.issues2000.org/Drugs.htm

You might not like several of the candidate's position on the drug issue.

And a Wesley Clark story on medical marajuana here:

Masia told Clark that she suffered from arthritis and a degenerative nerve ailment, and was allergic to conventional medications. When she asked Clark if he would arrest ill people who used medical marijuana, the candidate fixed her in his gaze and said firmly, "The answer is no."
