The DU front page is becoming to sensational.
There seems to be a lot of stories about the wire tapping and the impeachment issue. Now, I think most of us stand on the same ground, and would be happy to see W do down for his many sins. However, I am at my breaking point. DU keeps me sane. I live in a red town, work in a red office, and this is the only place where I can have a sane discussion about events and politics, even if I'm lurking most of the time. I like to check in at lunch at work, or before work, and always at night. So, it's important to me, and others, I'm sure. That being said, I appreciate relevant, useful information on the front page, stuff that will be ignored by the MSM, and can give me talking points against the idiots I work with. However, it seems that whenever something happens that MIGHT be bad for shrub, it becomes the end all be all of existence, and it heralded as the end of the tyranny.....ect......

How many times does this have to happen? Look, the wiretap thing sucks, but it's not going to get him impeached. In fact, absent a big shift in the house, nothing will get him impeached. I think it's a waste of time and emotional energy to get ourselves whipped up in a frenzy over these things, when they ultimately go nowhere.

There was the national guard, Gannon, Fitzmas, F911, debates, commission reports, Clark, Plame, and so on, and so forth.

Maybe I appreciate DU for different reasons, but I get sick of the flavor of the month scandal becoming the dominant theme. There should be one theme, one dominant theme, that we beat like a drum. Every couple of weeks, we have a different reason or motivation or cause. It reminds me of the fundies in the nineties. Always after Clinton because they hated him, always throwing something else at him, to see if it would stick. Ultimately, it made him a more popular President. And I'd rather see a Democratic House then a failed impeachment. I'd rather pave the way for a good candidate in 08 then creating a surge in fundy popularity by impeaching Bush, and watching his popularity sore.

So, that's how I feel. I don't care about the flavor of the month, I know the wire tapping thing will go nowhere, and I'd like to move on, and just keep drilling this administration with positive messages about our side, and getting our people in power.

Flame away.

1. Perhaps you'd be more comfortable on an alternate web site

2. the story has been festering for a while
There has been a lot to cover these last few days. And the domestic spying issue is getting actual representatives to mention impeachment. There has got to be a sensationalistic spike sometimes, and really it just gets the word out in the public domain faster. Thats my thought. Peace.

4. For All You Conspiracy Theorists Out There - Maybe DU Is A *.....
idea to get us talking amongst ourselves and not speaking out where it really matters. DU tends to difuse me. Only DU and AAR are refuges for me. When I start talking about this with friends - I get shot down by being told that I'm obsessing. I'm told to chill out. Take a breath. I've become the office joke always talking about the sinister things *Co is pulling. I'm told get a life. Therefore the only relief I get is to listen to AAR and vent here on DU.

I've found out that too many of my friends are so wrapped up in their day-to-day lives that they don't pay any attention to what is happening to them based on the actions of *Co. Nothing seems to be penetrating that barrier.

9. I Think You've Touched On It. - "The Truth Frightens People" And...
they can't deal with it so they withdraw into their own happy/miserable lives instead of having to deal with the reality of what may be happening to them on a global basis. (no pun intended - global-global)

I still tend to think in terms of LIHOP or MIHOP on 9/11. Either thought is so frightening that people/sheeple would rather believe the story that is put out there then even questioning some of what we saw that day and were told afterwards.

I question everything since the sElection of 2000. I still believe we were subjected to a covert coup-d'etat. Everything that has happened from that day forward is too unbelievable to be just happenstance or coincidence.

The Choreographed Presidency - The Choreographed War.

8. It's the nature of message boards.
The latest story is what is talked about, analyzed, and obsessed about.

You are essentially trying to criticize a giraffe for having a long neck. Good luck.
