lots of talk, no walk
I am getting tired of reading about all the reasons for impeachment. I want action. John Conyers has been talking impeachment for a year and a half at least. My idea is a million citizen takeover of the Capital Building to force the house to introduce articles of impeachment. "When in the course of human events etc.etc.etc." They work for us. They should know they will be fired, no matter that they be named Conyers, Obama, Reid, Pelosi, or whatever. 2006 elections are coming up soon.

2. the political atmosphere of Andrew Jackson
At least it would get more people involved in politics and get the true will of the people enacted for a change.

Although I think their is too great a risk of lawlessness with mob rule.

revolution led by the moneyed classes... that said ever since we have had the constant tenstion between the followers of Jefferson and the followers of Burke...

Right now we have a third element, not quite burkian, but the American Revolution was a civil war, and not quite mob rule

Oh and impeachent IS a political act, if we take the house in '06 I suspect they will have no choice either, but make sure you demand it. I faer it will take a while and patience needs to be had. Of course that does not mean people should resist direct action, problem is getting that direct action covered by the press where it will help to spreaad.... and the critters are now wholly owned by the Right

7. Oh, puh-leeze.
We have a congress which does not represent "the mob" (that's us.)
We have an executive who not only does not represent us but which seeks to eavesdrop on us, imprison us without trial if we're "bad", and possibly execute us if we become too inconvenient.
We have a supreme court which is being stacked with people who condone strip searches of 10-year-olds.

And you are worried about "mob rule"? What the hell else is left to do? The poster wasn't proposing a "mob", anyway. He/she was just proposing that if no one else will say it for us, we need to play our ONLY ace--our numbers--and say it for ourselves.

I could see that if you were around for the Boston Tea Party, you might have said, "the desruction of property is no way to fight tyranny!"
