1. The Budget Bill
and the Patriot Act. Both need to be acted upon before they go home.

In order to get them to pass all kinds of BS and pork that is attached to both bills.

2. Because they have work to do?
I'm at work. We get Christmas and New Year's off (adjusted for weekend holidays). I have next week off becuase I'm taking vacation time. But if I didn't, I'd be here then.

8. Yeah, but you have a real job, and no one is
safe while Congress is in session. Make them go home before they destroy something!

9. Because of the RW strong-armed tactics.
Edited on Tue Dec-20-05 01:02 PM by in_cog_ni_to
They're trying to SCREW the poor by taking away funds that would help them while giving HUGE tax cuts to the wealthy. Ted Stevens is trying to ram his ANWR bill into the Budget Bill because he thinks the Senators will HAVE to vote for the bill because EVERYONE wants to give funds to the troops. and the PATRIOT ACT had shitty provisions that violated our civil liberties and should never be passed with those provisions in it. That's why. The Democrats are trying to stop the bastard repukes from running roughshod over the poor and our civil rights. AS IT SHOULD BE!

10. Trust me, if I were in the Senate, I'd be doing EVERYTHING I could
to ensure that there would be no recess until all the bullsh*t was removed from the Defense Budget Bill...

in my opinion and do too much campaigning and fundraising.

I don't think any "elected" or appointed Federal official should take a day of vacation during a time of War, let alone do a minute of campaigning or fundraising,,,,, but that's just me.

editted for spelling.

16. Maybe they're afraid to go home.
With a 27% approval rating, they're safest in WDC.

Edited on Tue Dec-20-05 01:56 PM by Skidmore
with their eyes cast heavenward and silhouetted by the rose windows in the churches. Will definitely cause their polling numbers to tank further. Won't be able to see how many times you can cram "God bless", "America", "freedom", and "terrorists" into the same sentence.
