giving the president "all necessary and appropriate force against those nations, organizations, or persons he determines planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, or harbored such organizations or persons, in order to prevent any future acts of international terrorism against the United States by such nations, organizations or persons" right after 9/11.

2. I respectfully disagree...
While I really dig Feingold, I don't like any ticket that takes Democrats out of the Senate, where the roll call by 2008 will likely be so close that each and every member will make a huge difference toward a Democratic majority.

5. That's a good argument to use against Hillary Clinton in '08
Thanks.

6. Yup. Her too.
I'd like us to look outside the Senate for a candidate. There's plenty available -- Warner, Clark and Gore all spring immediately to mind.

4. I like Feingold, don't know anything about Lee.
My concern about Feingold is this. No member of Congress has been elected to the Presidency since 1960, and then it was by less than half a vote per precinct. Before that no member of Congress has been elected to the presidency since 1920 (Harding). For whatever reason, Senators cannot seem to get elected, although they are probably more qualified than most governors actually to govern.
