When is the last day to Enter the Primary???

I have a question I can't quite get answered. When is the last day a candidate for President must announce their intentions for the Primary? Or can you join at anytime in the race, example, you miss N.H / Iowa, but jump in time for S.C?

I was just wondering if the Rupugs get so sick of Bush or if something big comes out in the next weeks/months, can they or an independant Repug (bucking the RNC) jump in and challenge Bush?

I'm hoping the shit hits the fan and someone decides to challlenge, like McCain or, well, anyone...
