Psephologists predictions were way off in Iraq election. Sunnis cry fraud.

Iraqi opposition parties demand new vote-

Iraqi opposition parties have dismissed partial results from December 15's ballot as flawed.

The National Concord Front, made up of three major Sunni parties, flagged up what it said were "clear violations" and threatened to demand a new vote.

A spokesman questioned electoral commission's results from Baghdad where the Shia coalition alliance, the United Iraqi Alliance, won 58 per cent of the poll, with the Sunnis trailing on 18 per cent.

Psephologists forecast Shia Muslims were ahead in 10 of the 18 provinces, with Sunni Muslims and Kurdish parties leading in four provinces respectively.

1. There was an analyst, cannot remember who...

that said that these elections may expedite the civil war. I do hope he was wrong, but, as we have seen too often, if the chimp touts something as a success, a disaster is typically unfolding.
