Freepers ABSOLUTELY ENRAGED about FOURTH AMENDMENT VIOLATION
Check it out... looks like we have common ground here:

Excerpts from Feb 2001 on Carnivore from: http://www.freerepublic.com/forum/a3a8e66a27404.htm

I dont think they get it

Its not the damn name were mad about its the corruption of the fourth and our privacy

I wonder if they know what the CONSTITUTION is ?

Excerpts from Sep 2001 on the Patriot Act from: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/529185/posts

Thanks for this post. I have been chilled at the speech that Ashcorft gives over and over in order to grab new power. Let us win the war and solve the true problem and leave liberty intact. Also, that new cabinet post sounds dangerously close to a national police force.

Someone explain to me what is 'patriotic' about wanting to diminish America's freedoms. Patriotic or demagogic?

Careful, if you question the amazing expansion of the state of this past week you might get labeled a "terrorist." When I question this particular trojan horse that is what I am called.

Imagine if this attack had happened a year ago. Can't you just see everyone here rallying around President Clinton and cheering to push this exact same "reasonable" legislation through? Nooo? Funny...me neither.

Anyone here want President Hillary to have these powers?

Excerpts from Mar 2004 on the FBI Expansion of Wiretapping to Internet from: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1097605/posts

This is insane...

"A far-reaching FBI proposal would require all broadband Net providers, including cable modem and DSL companies, to rewire their networks to support easy wiretapping by police."
At whose expense?

Amendment V

"...nor shall private property be taken for public use without just compensation."

This action, regulation, or law is blatantly unconstitutional.

If we U.S. citzens wish to have this type of access for wiretapping broadband data conveyance, then we citizens have to compensate the private property owners for that cost for public use.

Ever since the "anthrax" scare at the U.S. Supremes, there has been a judicial blank check for anything couched as "homeland security." Congress will pass unconstitutional laws, the president will sign the laws doubting the constitutionality, and 5 clymers in black robes will declare the laws to be constitutional. The inmates are running the asylum. Could be worse. Could be living in Spain and surrendering to terrorists at the ballot box.

Wow, that last article goes on and on about how bad it is to circumvent the 4th Amendment. I could almost believe I was reading DU today as I read their comments.

And there are many more articles like that above on their site. SO, these guys MUST BE PISSED ABOUT Bush Violating the 4th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution... but their response seems so very strange to this recent development. Apparently, the remaining nut jobs at this declining sorry-ass excuse for a website are so desperate to support Bush in any way they can they've deluded themselves into believing that every President in the past has used no-warrent monitoring of communications of U.S. Citizens. It's really sad to see people with rational thought go down the crapper with mindless gibberish because they can't admit that the person they put into office is RAPING THE CONSTITUTION.

4. Read my entire post...
Up until as recently as 2004, they would get enraged about changes in the law that make it easier to spy on U.S. citizens... THEN SUDDENLY, When Bush could be impeached because he broke the law ON THIS VERY ISSUE, FR suddenly doesn't allow any posts that discuss the 4th ammendment... only the CRAP that "Bush must have needed to do it" and "Every President has done it" Both of which are lies, lies, lies.

10. I can't ever listen to Rush or Boortz etx, but both have been sooo very
strong against invasion into personal information, I'm curious about how they've reacted to this BS from Shrub.

Rushbo has been fighting this BS in court about his medical records, and from what I've heard, he lost in court and is very pi**ed!

Like it or not, these guys have a lot of influence on public opinion, and I'm thinging Shrub is in trouble.

13. Dems do the same thing... critisize Clinton polices and bang! bang! bang!
We have a really rare opportunity - probably unparalled - we don't need no stinking patriot act, we don't no stinking fisa court.

the war on terra is MANUFACTURED - it isn't REAL.

It only exist so that the government can have the excuse, the justification, and the so called "Public Approval" for the diminishing of our civil liberties.

this whole thing has been going on for DECADES under both parties!

We have an opportunity to RESTORE OUR RIGHTS...

do ya think Democrats understand this enough to be moved to act, putting the priority on OUR RIGHTS instead of "let's just use this to get bush and be done with it"... as if it were not the case that Democrats were in control, and they didn't set it up for others to abuse. That's the point.

It's like the Dems get this great idea, they might not abuse it very badly, but they set it up so that bonafide fascists can abuse us at a later time.

shite man, lets save our democracy and our constitution by restoring our Rights and Freedoms! let's do it now!

16. Reading these posts, I was amazed, so I checked the status of those
posters. The only one of them who is apparently still posting there is major-pelham. I scanned through his posts and found that he is not as unreasonable-sounding as is the average freeper.

As for Zviadist, sendtoscott, and al-andalus, none of them have posted there in a couple of years at least. They all seem to have come to their senses and left that stupid place.

Cheetah1 seems to have left on his own after posting in favor of gay marriage.

Actually, I was expecting to find most of these posters' accounts banned. I guess they came to their senses and left before the dumbass ruler of freerepublic had a chance to ban them.

That's awesome, but must have taken a few hours to reduce!

Good work! I think half the posts are completely made up on that site now. As you said, the longer that Bush has been in office the more insane the posts have gotten there. I think we are seeing Bush's base fall out.

18. LOL! It's a cinch. They have "poster search"
which instantly brings up the person's posts. Or, in some cases, responds with a screen which says "this account has been banned or suspended". I fully expected to see the latter message for some of those persons, but nary a one was banned or suspended. I think that's b/c they mostly just seem to have left on their own.

I became prolific in doing "poster search" back when I was deluded enough to actually participate in that stupid, stupid, stupid, website. I left it a long time ago and have never gone back to post--have just gone back to sneer. (And there's plenty to sneer at... Jeff Gannon, for example.)
