What do you think of Mike Webb?

He's a liberal talk radio host who takes calls and often rips neocons a new one. Just wondering if people know about him or not. Not even sure where I heard about him first. Been listening to him on and off for 3-4 years.

He's discussing the wiretap-situation ("liberty vs. saftey") now and he's not pleased.

He's openly gay.

He was involved in a conflict with Seattle Police last year at a fast food drive-up. From the sound of it, the officers overstepped their authority, and verged on outright police brutality.

He can be very entertaining. He can also be overbearing and rude, cut off even inoffensive callers and then mock them for the rest of the evening.

What bothers me personally is his strong prejudice (and I don't think I'm exaggerating by using that word) against Christians. In The World According To Mike, to be a Christian automatically means being a religious-right fundie, and probably a corrupt hypocrite as well. Had Mike been a talk-show host in the '60s, he'd probably be attacking Martin Luther King as a secret white supremacist -- because, you see, he was a Baptist minister, and "everybody knows" Baptist ministers are far-right racists. :crazy:

I haven't listened to him continuously but I've never actually heard him talk that much trash about christians. In fact today he was talking about celebrating christmas with his family, so it's obviously not christianity in and of itself.

I didn't know he was openly gay, but he has never mentioned any wifes or girlfriends and no kids of his own so I guess that makes sense now :-) Just thought he was a bachelor like myself.
