Are people waking up?

I work in a small company in Arkansas. One of the coworkers will sometimes talk politics with me, but he's usually either cynical (it doesn't matter what we do, they are all crooks) or indifferent. Well, today he comes in and says, "I don't understand why Bush hasn't been impeached yet. What he did goes against his own words last year about obeying the law." I told him about some of the groups who have been watched, including especially Catholic Workers because he comes from a Catholic family. Then I told him about the plans for a nationwide protest and he said, "Tell me when and I'll be there with you." He was sincere and not joking around. I was pleasantly shocked by his statements and the vehemence with which he said them.

It was in the planning stage. The last I saw they were talking about doing it the day of the State of the Union address because the Chimp would be in DC. Many, like me, are hoping that when the date is set we can start either a protest or a teach-in locally. That's why my coworker's statements were so heartening.

I hadn't, because I figured it was like you said. And then this fellow comes in for his coffee break and says this stuff-and it was sincere. I've worked with him for over four years, and know him pretty well. It really floored me.
