would be violated.

26. So ANWR drilling was intended as Katrina/hurricane aid?
I'm I getting this right?

In order to get help in hurricane annihilated areas, we would have to rape the wildlife refuge and wait for 20 years to produce blood oil from Alaska?

Stevens, STFU, you whiner.

My wife and I just vowed never to vote for her again.

We know that she always votes with repukes on big-oil and related issues....But to see her do it live on C-Span was the last straw....Especially since she is now playing along with repuke "strategery" by voting to keep ANWR part of the defense spending bill. Truly sickening.

did she have to keep ANWR in the bill or not? OR will Katrina $$$$ be removed with ANWR? IF that's the case, I can understand her vote. IF NOT, there's NO EXCUSE for her to vote for keeping ANWR in the bill. I'm confused.

through his hysteria, it sounded like Sen. Cantwell had proposed a resolution to remove ANWR. It would fit, since she's been threatening a filibuster if ANWR was included. but I don't know for sure.
It would be nice if CSpan could put on the screen what's being voted on.

Edited to add: And then I go back to the living room and there it is

85. Nope
It was, but the Dems put their foot down and got the votes to support a resolution to remove it. All the Dems thought it was a dirty trick, and so did some Repugs. You just can't attach something after the fact. It's against the rules and it would lead to anarchy. The House, speaking of anarchy, passed it with it in it, because they're insane. Now that it came back, the Senate voted to remove it and pass the bill.

ANWR is something that makes everyone's ears perk up when they hear it. It hasn't been able to pass on its own for 25 years. Today isn't its day either.

They also negotiated on extending the unPatriot Act for six months instead of three months to appease the Repugs and get home.
