Edited on Tue Oct-21-03 10:57 AM by Ficus
Here's a start...this oughta get a good discussion going...

Sec. of Defense - Fmr. Gen. Wes Clark
Attorney General - Fmr. Sen. John Edwards
National Security Advisor - Fmr. UN Weapons Inspector Scott Ritter
Secretary of State - Fmr. Sen. Gary Hart
Homeland Security - Fmr. NSC head Richard Clarke

Dept. of Peace- Dennis Kucinich...j/k

as far as people like Treasury and Labor so forth, I'm sure some people out there have some ideas...

2. Actually I have Eliot Spitzer in mind for AG
He's one of the best AG in NY in a long time.

He went after anything that was TRULY evil.

4. Al Gore in the Supreme Court
would be ironic as hell...I'd love it.

no more election stealing...Prehaps since Al is getting into media he might do well over at the FCC. Certainly better than Michael Powell.

10. Wouldn't lack of legal training be a handicap?
Pardon me, but do you really think someone who has never practiced as a lawyer or even received a law degree should be on the Supreme Court?

8. Precisely!

He's a rare individual who combines a deep sense of history, a keen intellect, and media savvy, all of which are essential traits in dealing with the UN and the world diplomatic community.

9. Defense
One note on your DOD choice...traditionally, career military personell are not appointed to head the Department of Defense. It has its roots in the belief that there shopuld be a layer of distance between the Pentagon hierarchy, past or present, and the civilian leadership structure. Does it really matter? I don't know. I suspect that George Marshall would have been a fine Defense secratary, as would Clark. Nonetheless, there are some traditions out there.

12. Clark would be good at
being many things. He may not be a lifelong dem but he's pretty damn smart.

You have a point about Clark and defense...though he seems a lot more "civilian" than many retired generals. He would probably be able to fill many positions in on a future staff as well, from State to NSA.

13. Gov Napolitano
for Vice President! I would love to see Gov. Sebelius (KS) as VP but I think it is too soon for her. (Ok I am from KS so maybe I am a bit biased!)
