Today, Bush Visited the Wounded -photos

Bush was visiting with Marines wounded in Iraq and the medical staff treating them at the National Naval Medical Center here. Before going behind closed doors to spend about two hours with servicemen and women, Bush spoke briefly to medical care givers and troops able to leave their rooms.

He said the troops' sacrifices are serving an important goal......

"The task at hand is one that requires determination and discipline and great faith in the ideals of human freedom and human liberty. And so coming here today is a chance to not only thank you for being a part of this incredible team of healers, but also being a part of this historic moment."

14. It will be a hollow memory when they are discarded like Vietnam Vets were.
I hope it meant something to those service people. But then again, they were screened, and so, sadly, it really means nothing at all. :(

21. I know, I know. It will be meaningless in the long run
but the amazing thing to me was reading about it and realizing that it was the first human-appearing thing he has done to my knowledge since he took over.

And if it does mean something to those service men/women that are damaged due to this stupid conflict, so be it. I wish them all well and the very best - if a visit by that nut makes their day, let the nut visit them.
