Alberto Gonzales - Now There's An Attorney General For You
It is his considered opinion that torture by the US Military and its associated intelligence agencies and contractors is legal.

Nice Call.

It is his considered opinion that, at the discretion of the President, US Citizens have no 4th Amendment protection against unwarranted search and seizure and normal protection by the Court need not be available to them.

Nice Call.

It is his considered opinion that the Geneva Conventions, treaties signed and ratified by the United States, are not applicable to the United States.

Nice Call.

It is is considered opinion that the Congress has no right to Government documents produced at the hand of of nominees for high court appointments while conducting its duty of providing advise and consent to judicial appointments.

Nice Call.

In his long-time association with the current President he prepared over 100 death penalty memos, the last plea for clemency from the condemned of Texas, not one of which was acted on positively.

Nice bunch of calls.

His legal expertise is so great that he once wrote a memorandum to the State Department explaining that Texas was not bound by the requirement of the Vienna Convention (1969)that foreign nationals accused of a crime are given access to legal counsel by a representative from their home country Gonzales argued that the treaty didn't apply to the State of Texas because Texas was not a signatory to the Vienna Convention.

Now there's a Call that's hard to forget.

Do you wonder what other good advice the recent AG has given the Administration?

6. I think his level of intelligence is about the same as Bush's
He just doesn't seem that smart to me. Asscroft was an intellectual giant in comparison to him. And he's like Bush...no compassion, no conscience.
