2. OMG that's horrible
I'm a Bucs fan going back to Dungy's time there and I remember this kid running around that looked like him. So sad. I wonder what happened.

5. That's awful
Can't speak about his son, but Dungy is a class act. Wish the Vikes had him for their head coach (used to be their DC at one time). Feel really bad for him.

8. As a Vikings fan, I really miss Tony Dungy
I wish he was our head coach instead of the neanderthal we have now.

Didn't Tony Dungy also play for the Gophers?

14. He was a QB for the Gophs
and a defensive back for the Steelers before going into coaching. Very sad - Tony Dungy is a class act and a real gentleman. No family should have to deal with the sudden death of a child during this season.

12. Such sadness
My prayers and postive thoughts to the family. I wish no parent would ever have to experience the death of a child.

11. Been a Dungy fan since his QB days at Minnesota
Screwed over because of his race, he plugged away in a quiet manner to reach the point he is at today. Have always admired Mr. Dungy. Sorry to hear of his loss. It is never good when a child precedes a parent in death.

13. How awful!
Mr. Dungy is a class act, and I am so sorry to hear this. Somehow this sort of thing just seems so much sadder at Christmas time.

17. From ESPN..........really sad, As are all young deaths......
James Dungy, the 18-year-old son of Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy, was found dead at 1:30 a.m. ET Thursday in his apartment in Lutz, Fla., a suburb of Tampa, Debbie Carter, a spokesperson for the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, confirmed Thursday.

In a news release on its Web site, the Hillsborough County Sheriffs Office said it "responded to the Campus Lodge Apartments this morning at approximately 1:32 a.m. The girlfriend of James Dungy had returned to the apartment and discovered Dungy."

Police performed CPR on Dungy before he was taken to University Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The cause of death is pending an autopsy by the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner's Office.

Tony Dungy has left the Colts and is in Tampa, ESPN has learned.

The coach and his wife, Lauren, have four other children: daughters Tiara and Jade and sons Eric and Jordan.

The Colts (13-1) are at Seattle on Saturday
