I've never thought that stupidity could be contagious
Edited on Thu Dec-22-05 06:28 PM by ck4829
"The leader of Egypt's main Islamic opposition group said Thursday the Holocaust was a "myth," and he slammed Western governments for criticizing disclaimers of the Jewish genocide.

The comments by Muslim Brotherhood chief Mohammed Mahdi Akef — made on the heels of his group's strong showing in Egyptian parliamentary elections — echoed remarks made recently by Iran's hard-line president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, which sparked international outrage.

"Western democracies have slammed all those who don't see eye to eye with the Zionists regarding the myth of the Holocaust," Akef wrote in a weekly article meant as a directive to the group's followers on its official Web site.

In Israel, the director of the Israeli branch of the Nazi watchdog group, the Simon Wiesenthal Center, warned, "There's no question that a very ugly wave of Holocaust denial is sweeping the Arab world." "

There may be a lot of stupid people in the world, but I am a Muslim who will never forget about the Holocaust.

2. Islam never had an "Age of Reason".. Devout Faith can be twisted, as we are

experiencing today in our own government turning Theoacratic..ie: faith based Education and Government.

Reason in Religion, especially Islam being run by central power structure and control of education resulting in endemic illiteracy.. and pervasive Apriori Logic.. :..where the conclusion comes first and the precise follows.. what you get is a culture of religious Ditto Heads.

cultures like Iran had a Renascence of blossoming and then they got conned into letting the Church run the government, and now they are slaves.

It is called 'The Iron Law of Oligarchy'.. the people with a vested interest take over, be it capitalism or religion.

my statements are on a Macro level.. individual situations are always a variable.

I am ranting on the Oligarchy.. but Islam seems inherent to manipulation historically.. Islam seems to Revere all things Prophet like the good old days of the 6ht century..

4. Ignorance is what happens to the 'little people'
I'll have to disagree with you on this.

I think this guy has an education, I think he had the chance to learn about the Holocaust, what he said is dangerously stupid.

IMHO, I don't think anyone should never blame 'ignorance' as the reason for the evil things that influential people do.

6. you assume they use Reason.. they dont out of endemic ignorance
I have lived in an Islamic Relpublic... they are not evil.. uneducated and ignorant of how the world works, it is part of the return of the Ottoman Empire scheme, makes it easy to control the masses.

just like No Child Left Behind.. they are going to ruin them all to control them,
