Dean Zings Bush, Leaving USA Today Gasping for Air

"At his meeting with reporters from USA TODAY and Gannett News Service, Howard Dean fired a string of zingers at President Bush: 'His view of life starts at about $250,000 a year and goes up.' 'I think the president's philosophy is that if you're rich, you deserve it, and if you're poor, you deserve it.' 'I want repeal of the $87 billion worth of tax cuts that he gave away to Ken Lay and his friends at Enron (to finance the administration's budget request for Iraq). This is insane, what he's doing. I'm not going to let him run a war on a credit card.' 'Conducting the foreign policy of the United States (with North Korea) based on the petulance of the chief executive is not the right way to conduct foreign policy.' We are 'never going to be able to regain the credibility the United States had as a moral beacon in the world as long as this man is in the White House.'"

It sounds like USA Today is in shock at Dean's truthtelling- you GO, Howard!

16. I'm curious what the edit was
was the original post even more inane? Is that possible?

18. Pretty much the same post I first saw
inane isn't the word. Embarassingly juvenile is more like it.

6. the first is a snip from the front page
of Democrats.com - they are the ones who gave that title (gasping for air), rather than the poster.

4. Go on with your bad Howie self !
Some say that his temper is a liability.
I think it is an asset.
He seems to be as ticked off as we are.
It would be nice to have someone who actually felt something.
Passion is good.

10. He isn't just angry...
...his campaign is also "full of mirth" (sorry, just got thru watching West Wing, with President Bartlet, a supporter of Dean). We're angry about things that US citizens should be angry about, but we still know that hope and laughter are the things that'll get us thru...

20. Old Jewish saying...
We laugh so that we may not cry.
That is probably why there are so many Jewish comedians.

26. Right on!
Anyone who's not angry hasn't been paying attention. I'll take an angry Howard over a spinless bully-bunnypants anyday.

Personally, I think the infamous librul media's just trying to hang the *angry* label on Howard the same way they hung *boring, liar* on Al Gore. It's not gonna work this time.

11. I like this article even better - Big deficit suits GOP's plans
"I think their principal motivation is to undo the pillars of the New Deal, particularly Medicare and Social Security, by making the budget deficit so big that those programs can't be sustained." Dean

A repuke spokeswoman found his comments disturbing. I wonder if she found it more disturbing when this was raised in an article by Bill Rentschler, a longtime republican, that was in the Washington Spectator 9/1/03? In this article he references how the neo-cons are raiding the treasury and transferring wealth at an alarming rate to the upper elite and the methods that are being used to accomplish this. I don't have a link, but if you can find this article it's a good read and it's a good one to share. I think that the title is "A Republican Looks at Bush & Co. with a Furrowed Brow".

"This is an impressive crowd. The haves and the have-mores. Some people call you the elite. I call you my base."
