Make an Observation about 2005
Try to observe something no one else has mentioned.

Like ...

In 2005, the band "Katrina and the Waves" replaced "ANTHRAX" as the most unfortunately named band.

3. the year blogging transformed
For the first few years of the internet political revolution, the blogging has
increased, and for those who've been at the craft for a few years, the medium
churn is exhausting. And what i've seen in 2005, is that the beef of the writers
who make websites like this worth reading, those writers realize that unless you're
tinkering with a few thoughts online, but to really attempt writing on such sites
as a craft, as a trade, it is a long haul, a lifetimes work for which we may never
be paid... that a generation after us finally realize the economic benefits of
"writing a public column".

Its like a transition has happened with bush's demise becoming mainstream, when
i remember opposing bush's actions to war in earlier times when it was not particularly
popular. Then, to oppose bush was really being "underground". Now, it has become
"overground" and the underground writers have stayed underground often migrating to
different websites. This transition from counter-culture to popular-will has, IMO,
changed the spirit of the public debate on DU. Rather than revolting against the
political correctness culture, as is the consciousness of the underground, rather
much more colunm-inch is dedicated to politcial correctness.

In 2005, i realize that you can't brand "underground", and those minds of the true
underground stay there like roots.

7. I do think this is the year the blogosphere came of age.
It was important in 2004, but it became recognized and mainstreamed this year.

Good call.
