Dashel's Revelation's Simplified
Edited on Fri Dec-23-05 12:44 PM by ThomWV
Some folks may find it difficult to understand what Bush did wrong. Lets make it easy.

If your kid does something wrong that no one has ever told him or her was wrong it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to get real mad at the kid about it. Some things don't look so bad at first and now the kid knows. No problem with that. Live and learn.

On the other hand if you kid asks you to do that same thing, which is wrong, but you tell them no, and then the child does it anyway, and more particularly if they are secretive about it and hide what they have done, well, how would you react? Of course a greater offense has been committed; you'd be mad as hell and rightfully so.

Bush came to the Congress asking for increased authority. He was rebuffed (told no) because the authority he requested is far outside of the what the founding fathers, in their great wisdom, had allowed in the Constitution. Bush then took it upon himself to assume that same authority he had been denied and then cloaked that program in secrecy as it continued unabated for years. Now the people have found out about it and are made as hell, and rightfully so.

Make sense?

1. Absolutely!
This was a great analogy to use. Anyone could understand this (except for maybe *).

4. Remember when everyone thought he was joking around,
When he said, "Things would be a lot easier if this was a dictatorship---just so long as I'm the dictator, heh, heh".

I didn't, and don't think he was joking.

6. Little bit of truth in jokes.
A lot of arrogance in Bush's alleged jokes.

7. Maybe you meant something else in paragraph three?
"If you kid asks you that same thing that is wrong but you tell them no ..."

Is it missing some words?

Did you mean to say "If your kid asks you if they can do that same thing that is wrong but you tell them no..."?

Or perhaps "If your kid asks you if something is wrong and you say "yes", and then does it anyway...?

Sorry, I just read things closely and though I think I get the gist of your intention, the details confuse me.

8. I Think I got It Fixed
You know how hard it can be. You get a notion in your own head that makes it easy to understand but then its hard to convey the simplicity of it.

Or maybe its that I'm really lazy at heart and rarely proof read much of anything that I write. Add in a good dose of dixlexia and you get my writing style, or lack thereof.

Anyway, I think I got it this time. By the way, I honestly do thank you - I need to be more clear and you have helped that sink in. Thanks.

:~)
