Feds nab 4 in theft of 400 lbs. of explosives
http://www.suntimes.com/output/news/cst-nws-nm24.html

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Four men, including two brothers, were taken into custody Friday by federal authorities in connection with the theft of 400 pounds of explosives from a storage depot southwest of Albuquerque.

The explosives were reported stolen last Sunday from Cherry Engineering's storage depot eight miles southwest of New Mexico's largest city. Federal authorities have said it was enough to flatten a large building.

The men, whose names were not immediately released, all face federal charges, including possession of stolen explosives. snip

Investigators have said there was no evidence to suggest a link to terrorism.

New Article on Ignored American Terrorists
In early December last year, The Memory Hole posted information on "The US Terrorism Plot That the Media Ignores." A Texas couple--William Krar and Judith Bruey--had enough conventional weapons and WMD (including a sodium cyanide bomb) to wipe out thousands of people. But because they were white Americans, the Justice Department didn't publicize the case, in stark contrast to Ashcroft's press conferences every time an Arab is found with talcum powder. And the national media, because they let the pubic affairs offices of the federal government set the news agenda, utterly failed to report the case.

About a month after the convictions, the nation's major newspapers published one article each about the case (the NY Times' contribution was an op-ed piece), but even then they took a meta approach to the story, focusing on why they didn't catch the story as it was happening. Since then, they have failed to follow up, so the story remains a heavy contender for the next Project Censored annual list.

On Sunday, the London Observer published an article that offers a few new details. First, the shocking scope of this publicly ignored investigation:

The case has now sparked the biggest domestic terror investigation since the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995.

But you sure wouldn't know it from the news. And it turns out that this is hardly the only one:

Since Oklahoma City, more than 30 plots by US terrorists have been uncovered, including attacks on oil refineries, politicians and army bases.

8. Thanks for finding that story
I just mentioned it in another thread, but I couldn't remember the details. The reason I couldn't remember is because the press ignored the story. The only reason those 'terrorists' were caught, btw, AIRC, was because some of their material for making bombs was accidentally mailed to the wrong person, who then reported it.

There would be no political gain in making a big deal over this unless the cabal had some reason for wanting to invade Texas.

Even as I'm typing this I'm hearing in the background 'terror' 'terrorists want to harm us' blah, blah. But ONLY ME terrorists!! Rummy is droning on and on about Saddam etc. Each time I hear Rummy lie through his teeth, I think of that picture of him bringing gifts to Saddam Hussein, and of the long list of US companies who sold chemicals to him during the Reagan/Bush era. But again, nothing from the press to allow the American people to judge for themselves whether or not these hypocrites are telling the truth.

The press is the most responsible for the deception this administration has perpetrated on the American people. They should have covered this story and asked why we are targeting only Muslims if this administration is serious about protecting the American people.

Of course I'm dreaming that we have a real press ~ when the prosecutions begin, and I hope it will be soon, members of this disgraceful media should also be prosecuted for their complicity in the lies.

Imagine if they had been a Muslim couple!!

9. Imagine if they had been a Muslim couple??? Oh yeah.... every
Mosque in Amerika would have yellow crime scene tape around it.... what I was looking for, and cannot find, is the Memory Hole article that showed the incredible amount of weapons and explosives that were in storage in Texas that belonged to some white supremacists there.... I sure wish I had that webpage to throw up here....

2. Must have been four white, Bush-worshipping conservatives
and therefore, that's why there was "no evidence to suggest a link to terrorism".

"No, they aren't terrorists! They are just a bunch of great Americans who support the president, and want to blow up liberal targets"

3. Link to terrorism? Nah...those were white guys.
Only guys that don't look like "Real Americans" (and we don't mean those "native types", either) could possibly have terrorism in their hearts and on their minds. Surely they had some criminal (non-terrorist) motive in mind: like robbing a string of banks and jewelry stores. Uh-huh. :sarcasm:

Yes, I know I'm jumping to conclusions when we don't even have names yet. But I'll be willing to put good money on some white supremacists for this one. I'll freely and openly apologize later if I'm wrong.

10. Yeah, but he could easily be an idiot willing to sell the stuff
to anyone to support his drug habit. Did this story ever make the nightly news, CNN or MSNBC? You'd think a story about stolen explosives would warrant a little runaway bride coverage.
