2. Are you honestly surprised?
Ed Rollins claims that Reagan wanted to fund AIDS research from the beginning... BULLSHIT. He was going to cut funding for it until Rock Hudson died. Suddenly, the AIDS epidemic had affected someone close to him and he cared. Bit like the Republicans defending stem cell research in order to prolong Reagan's life.

Heads up, Peggy Noonan will be on to give her unbiased opinion of this vicious attack on our beloved, jellybean-eating former president.

568731, Tweety Is "Setting the Record Straight" Already
Posted by UTUSN on Tue Oct-21-03 07:04 PM

Right off the bat he's got 2 RAYGUN biographers and Ed ROLLINS and gets them to say, no, none of them were consulted for this film. He's already used the phrase "the nonsense in it" and that "It sensationalizes aspects of his life". Tweety sez, "I don't think much of this project from what I've heard."

568761, Tweety: "Liberals Don't Even Know Their Own Biases"
Posted by UTUSN on Tue Oct-21-03 07:09 PM

ROLLINS sez, "Everybody in the WH was concerned about AIDS." Lou CANNON, biographer sez it's unfair to slam him as anti-Gay. Tweety's headline: "Smear Job on (RAYGUN)?" Martin ANDERSON, author, sez, "He sat us down and told us 'Leave them alone'." Tweety, "Did (RAYGUN) use words like 'Commie'? Lou, did you ever find that he testified against anybody?" Lou, "He testified at HUAC, but didn't name names. Liberal publications of the day praised him." Tweety, "The kind of crap that goes on in Hollywood."

568792, ROLLINS, "Myth of Nancy Deciding Everything with Astrologers"
Posted by UTUSN on Tue Oct-21-03 07:12 PM

Tweety, "They always do this crap, stick the knife in NIXON."

Yes, folks, Tweety has come to this, even defending NIXON. He's on to his next big goal: electing Shrub-=---will the economy improve enough to help (Shrub) get elected?????????

Kerry's criticisms of Dean were pretty mild. Tweety is exaggerating for effect.

Read the running thread on last night's show. Noone batted an eyelash over it here, and you know they would if they thought Kerry was attacking Dean unfairly.

19. They want it in black and white and it drives them crazy that Kerry's
position is nuanced. He believed in removing Saddam, as did most people, yet wanted diplomacy exhausted first with war as a last resort. They want Yes or No and anything else is incomprehensible to them, and another opportunity to slam him. Now saying he's trying to be all things to all people like another (Clinton).

26. Pruneface Reagan WAS a commie...
... or worse, a mobster. Then he got smart when J Edgar Hoover and Joe McCarthy started sniffing around Hollywood. The turd Raygun was in the pocket of the Mafia. When he was president of the Screen Actors Guild, Reagan made an exemption for MCA to represent the talent making movies and TV shows, as well as serve as the producers of movies and TV shows. When he was called to testify before a Grand Jury investigating such corruption and asked why only MCA was given such an exemption, the monkey-skulled moron said "I don't remember."

I kid you not. It's detailed in Dan Moldea's "Dark Victory: Reagan, MCA and the Mob."

http://www.moldea.com/MCA.html

BTW: I wonder if the BFEE got to Moldea, because he seriously Posnered his RFK assassination study.

Never forget that it was Moldea who prevented the removal of Bill Clinton from office.

Never forget that Danny Moldea stood against the OIC, providing a tape recording incriminating OIC.

Never forget that Danny Moldea's investigations for the Flynt project took down Bill Livingston.

(and yes, Moldea is a friend of mine)

41. So, with all DU (and due) respect, "What happened?"
... in the RFK assassination investigation? From what I understood, Dan Moldea was leaning toward conspiracy, then changed abruptly and went lone gunman. What caused him to change his interpretation?

BTW: As I wasn't there that horrible day, nor have I met people who were, I don't know what happened. All I can go by is what I read, hear, and can figure out for myself. The most compelling evidence for conspiracy is:

1. Coroner Thomas Naguchi stated the wound to the back of RFK's head was caused by a weapon fired in close proximity, no farther than a few inches.

2. Sirhan Sirhan, according to eyewitnesses, was positioned in front of the Senator, and at least one yard away.

3. The exact number of bullet holes was not verified by independent researchers because the LAPD destroyed the physical evidence removed from the crime scene, as well as photos taken there.

4. Photos of RFK show him holding a man's clip-on necktie, alleged to belong to the security guard Thane Eugene Cesar.

5. Witnesses reported Mr. Caesar knelt behind the mortally wounded RFK with a drawn handgun. (I remember seeing a photo once, but haven't seen it again...)

If Mr. Moldea sees the facts at a way that is opposed to how I see them — great. I respect the work he's done and respect his interpretation of what happened. That doesn't necessarily mean I agree, however.

"Fascism was really the basis for the New Deal."

"You can't help those who simply will not be helped. One problem that we've had, even in the best of times, is people who are sleeping on the grates, the homeless who are homeless, you might say, by choice."

"The American Petroleum Institute filed suit against the EPA charged that the agency was suppressing a scientific study for fear it might be misinterpreted... The suppressed study reveals that 80 percent of air pollution comes not from chimneys and auto exhaust pipes, but from plants and trees."

"A tree is a tree. How many more do you have to look at?"

I tuned in (Oct. 21 @ 7 pm ET) to hear Sen. Kerry and all I got was Tweety interrupting the guy to talk about the Little Turd from Crawford. Then, when he brought GOP toadies out, they ALL worked to trash Kerry, who by then was off camera. A real nice piece of work, if your politics matches Josef Goebbels'.

28. Here's MWO's take on Tweety and Kerry's Iraq stance:
Dem Voters Want Resolution-Supporters, Bush Critics
Not Buying Media Script, Recognizing Complexity

John Kerry patiently explains to Chris Matthews that sometimes things are complicated in life (Hardball -10/20):

MATTHEWS:   I don’t hear that clarity in your answer right now-the clarity of being for or against the damn war.

KERRY: Well, Chris, God bless you, but I have to tell you, man, sometimes in foreign policy, certain things are complicated. Life is complicated. And the fact is, that there was a legitimate rationale for the United States to hold Saddam Hussein accountable, but there was every reason in the world to hold him accountable properly.

>>>>>>>>
A new poll shows a majority of Democratic voters in three early primary states saying they prefer a candidate who originally supported action in Iraq, but who has since criticized Bush's disastrously incompetent handling of the issue.

As we have said many times, it is a Rovian/media whore lie to present an Iraq position like Senator John Kerry's as inconsistent.  Those who level that charge, including other Democrats, do so dishonestly, as they fully understand there is no inconsistency in Kerry's Iraq record.  Cheap claims otherwise are made in the hope that a segment of Moron-Americans will be convinced.  (Claims that Democrats could have defeated the Iraq resolution in 2002 are equally mendacious, as is the claim that Democrats could have avoided losses in that election had Senator Kerry and others taken a stronger stand against an Iraq invasion.)

The fact is, the views of most Americans have evolved significantly on the issue in terms of support for the war, and how the Unelected Fraud handled it.  A vast majority, including significant numbers of Democrats, gave the Bush Regime the benefit of the doubt on Iraq, but eventually began to recognize later the "war" was based on lies and deceit, and had been badly mishandled to the detriment of American status and security.

Regardless of how aggressively the media whores attempt to sell the myth of support for action in Iraq later followed by criticism of the White House Squatter as a Democratic "liability" - especially for the Democratic primaries - the majority of Americans at large and Democrats will not only continue to understand that position, but, as the poll shows, support it above others.

36. Tweety still burning up about being humbled by Kerry
Edited on Tue Oct-21-03 08:30 PM by Cocoa
he had to get his shots in without Kerry there to point out Tweety's misrepresentations. And with Fineman there to join in the fun.

Tweety couldn't even look at Kerry after Kerry turned his applause trick around on him. When they cut to break, Kerry was staring down at him with a huge grin on his face, and Tweety was looking down at his notes. :-)

And of course all the republicans had a lot to say about the movie none of them had seen. James Warren did a good job pointing out that no one had seen the movie, and also the right-wing ownership of all the media outlets.

Also, Matthews has admitted in the past that his family voted for Nixon in 1960. One of @ 22 Catholic households in the nation that did, so I'm guessing Nixon probably visited and thanked them personally.
