I am PISSED at these bush* sorry sons of bastards
Indirectly they are responsible. This year we purchased a new wood pellet stove and passed our old one down to the young'uns. Our only other options is cordwood, propane or electric. The first being messy and the other two too expensive. We been using Wood pellets since '92 and have been very happy all around. A ton of pellets cost $145 and we can get by for the winter on two tons. Well now that is over, not a pellet to be found anywhere around here, I finally found a place that would give me a raincheck on a couple tons but couldn't tell me when they would be available if at all before spring. Oh and to the tune of $250 a ton. A month ago everyone locally who sells pellets told us the supply was there no problems, so we only buy one ton, really all the space we wanted to allocate to the storage, big mistake on my part. Each vender gave me a different reason, none were the same by the way, It was like they were pulling the excuses out of their asses. Thank you george bush* you little coward chickenshit piece of scum. It seems under this misadministration there is no winning. Whats a man to do? here's one for you scumbag bush* naw, lets make it a double.

2. I'm not clear
on how Bush figures into this. Are you saying it is because of the oil prices, or something else I am missing? Like they are in cahoots with the wood guys?

Explain so I can cuss him out with you. I'm still drinking my coffee.

5. DIdn't you get the MEMO?
Anything bad happening is BabyBush's fault. It doesn't matter how much of a streach. i.e.This drought we're having in Central Texas is his fault maybe because he spent too much time here.

well, maybe he serves an important need in that regard. He is so annoying it helps to just blame him for everything and get it over with.

11. Culture of Corporate Corruption?
Under Bush, corporations have had all regulations/safeguards that remained after Reagan basically swept away, wouldn't you say? The fact that Ken Lay still hasn't come to trial (and why not?) seems to imply that you can economically and cruelly injure vast numbers of people and get away with it. Seems in the last year or so, only Martha Stewart, a Democrat, has gotten convicted and sentenced to jail. We may see something coming out of the Abramoff scandal soon, but that's more directly tied to politics.

12. It would be worth a call to see what the top suppliers say. If they are
the big wood corporations, they may be in cahoots with the oil companies, however, maybe they are using the pellets to make plywood because of the big hurricane rebuilding demand?

One thing we know for sure... George doesn't get involved with the details of what the corporations want to do. He must have his video game playing time.

13. Madokie is observing basic economics -- substitution effect
He is not saying that everything bad that happens is caused by the bushs. If you agree that bush's policies have led to higher oil prices than almost axiomatically, they have led to higher wood prices and shortages.

Whenever two products or commodities are interchangeable, a rise in the price of one commodity causes a rise in the price of interchangeable commodities, as people switch from the one whose price is rising fastest to other commodities.

More concretely, there are millions of people in Madokie's position who can use either oil or gas or wood. Oil and gas prices have risen fantastically. If you have a wood stove, you switch to wood. Wood pellets are the most efficient wood, so its price rises fastest. So many people switch to wood pellets that spot shortages arise.

It's perfectly predictable from the chaos in the oil markets.

14. Actually the only person I have to be disgusted with is none other
than myself, All I was hearing and reading had lead me to believe that there would be not shortages, millions of tons of sawdust was going to the landfills daily, then bam here it is. I knew with this cabal in the Whitehouse anything goes so long as everything goes to the haves direction. And with this little smilie I don't mean to be disrespectful to the Lady's. It's just how I feel right now. did I mention pissed
