What happens when we have nothing to sell?
What happens when all the rest of the factory jobs have left and we are a total service economy? What will we sell?Technology? We already outsource all the making of electronics to other countries? There is only so much wheat you can sell. What happens when you can't pay your foreign debt? We'll be able to wallpaper our homes with dollars.

1. Soldiers. We will rent out our military to corporations for their 'needs'
Making sure everyone is deep in debt without any other jobs pretty well seals our fates. Our kids have horrendous national debt, personal debt likely and no real opportunities for employment pretty damned soon. Lots of them will have no way to eat without putting on uniforms. And, conveniently for those in power, people in uniforms do not have the same rights as civilians, not the same kind of justice either.

7. the only long-term growth business is in pleasing the ultra-rich
as wealth continues to concentrate in the hands of the tiny owning class, the only boom business will be in catering to their whims.

people in america will be needed to satisfy the personal demands of the wealthy. build their houses, do their errands, cook their meals, etc. getting a bit fancier, import their stuff, protect their wealth (military, police, law).

aside from that, the real jobs will be overseas where the cheap labor is. but the wealthy still need good people to run those sweatshops. so you will be sent overseas so supervise people and impose horrible work conditions on the foreign labor. you can send money home to your family. if you're lucky you can telecommute occassionally.

but mostly, other nations will find their competitive advantage in manufacturing. america will find its competitive advantage in owning and making america great for owners.

so do yourself and your family a favor, get rich NOW, before it's too late. otherwise, your progeny will become servants to the rich or will have to move to another country.

9. We sell services.
It's the direction we've been heading, anyway. The problem is that there are other people in other, poorer countries that can also provide those services, and cheaper.

16. We will sell off more and more AMERICA
Just like we're doing now.
That sales will go on for at least another 100 years until America is foreign owned.

Look around you.
Is it the middle class here that owns it any more?
There's less and less sense of nationalism in this country and more and more cutthroat runaway self-destructive capitalism.

The upper 1% couldn't care less how much of America gets sold off as long as they get the best cut in the sale.

You will work for less and less...get less benefits, and have less of a chance to fund any decent education to compete in the world.

Within 20 years, your best bet will be to move out of the country.

20. our largest market has always been in America
exports are not that big a deal, nor is production, necessarily. We have always been such a wasteful and over-consuming society, and we still are. I clean up after parties and throw away tons of food and decorations which either only got used once, or never got used. I used to work at a Jello factory and threw away tons of pudding for one reason or another, and it was pre-made packaged pudding for the people too lazy to make their own and use tupperware. So instead we filled billions of little plastic cups which are discarded after use. One good thing about waste though, it creates jobs, and we all know how much fun those are, don't we?
