3. I think Card won't be indicted
but Card has been held responsible for many of the "missteps" Bush made this year. He's going to be the scapegoat for the GOP hardliners.

15. I don't know
why it sets my teeth on edge!

Maybe I had a teacher that I didn't like who said it. Maybe I am just contrary by nature.

Any predictions on Bolton???

17. Bolton is a tough one
I suspect he's deeply involved in both spygate and plamegate, but the question is, "will anybody get the goods on this crook."

so here's the real prediction on Bolton. If his role in either is revealed, the link to the other will be revealed and bolton will be indicted.

19. I hate it too
It sounds like an order. I don't follow orders very well. Also, it tells someone to do something that you apparently didn't do -- nowhere do I see any discussion by you.
It'd be more polite to say, "What do you think?" or "Do you agree?"

7. Hey - it's "Captain Card" to you!
Don't you remember? From the aircraft carrier photo op?

I think he quickly dropped the moniker since it was too close to Captain Kangaroo.

11. i agree card will leave, but I wouldn't read too much into it
Chief of staff is a grueling job. Card's had the job since chimpy took office. No other president since LBJ has had only one chief of staff (and LBJ was president for only 3 years). Clinton had four in eight years as did Reagan. Bush I had 3 in four years. Eisenhower, Nixon,Ford, and Carter all had two.

Frankly, I'm surprised he's stayed this long.

30. LBJ was President for more than 3 years
Took over in November 1963, was reelected in 1964, and served until January 1969. Just a tad over 5 years by my reckoning.

31. my bad -- what I meant to say:
Brain on leave of absence. What I meant to say is that LBJ only had a chief of staff for around 3 years. He didn't appoint one after he assumed the presidency following JFK's assasination. Rather, he waited until after his inauguration in 1965. His chief of staff was made postmaster general in 1968 and LBJ didn't appoint a replacement.

It can't be a "Post-New Year prediction" if you are predicting it on December 27th.

that we used to play "Nine Little Indignitie" with our cat when she'd fall asleep on her back. An ice-cube on her tummy, a bow around her wrist, scotch tape on her ear..... The goal was to attain nine indignities before she woke up and gave us a dirty look.

No discussion sought.

P.S. It was because of Walt Starr that I found DU.

14. If the accusation is true that George only trusts his four moms - Laura,
Barbara, Karen, Condi, then it means he doesn't trust Card.

Did he find out that Card followed an instruction from Dick to keep George busy in FL reading to kids (along with Ari) while 9-11 went down?

27. I don't see it
Card is part of the shadow government. IIRC, it was Card that was said to be running the country during 911.

No, he is at the evil root of the administration, and unless he is indicted I don't see him going anywhere.

29. Andy Card is so tired
Did anybody else laugh about the Andy Card stories starting with the Harriet Meirs fiasco? First, Andy didn't like Harriet. Then Harriet was Andy's idea. Then, Andy was exhausted. Now, I see the whole Bush administration is exhausted.
