soldiers are over-paid? My son is a Marine with two tours in Iraq and I can tell you, he's not getting rich. That's why I found the "obscene base salaries" to be pretty funny...I had to think the guy was joking. Maybe he'd like to go to boot camp for 13 weeks at Parris Island, then infantry training, hang from a helicopter on a tripwire, and then go to Fallujah and watch hid buddies get blown apart.
But, then again, the base salary my son makes probably does seem obscene to most of the libertarians I know. Because none of them have jobs and have a real resentment for anyone who does.

on edit: I just realized something. The building in the background in this picture is Newhouse I, one of the buildings that constitutes the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications on the campus of Syracuse University. I should know it. I earned my master's degree there.

For this loser to be posing in front of a building from MY alma mater while he goes on TV and spews this crap is absolutely repugnant to me. He doesn't have a degree from that university or its communications school. He's just posing in front of one of its buildings because he happens to live in the area and is (apparently) looking for a way to lend legitimacy to what he says. Posing in front of Newhouse I on TV is the equivalent of implying he speaks for the school, its faculty and its alumni...when in truth, he speaks for none of them.

I have a few Marine friends I want to send it to. Heh-heh.

He definitely has the right to say what he says and I have to admit he has balls.
